Big Green Egg and STJ Glasses

Ever the romantic, Bayer bought and assembled one yesterday for our 19th anniversary. Truthfully, I'd been begging for one, so I am excited. Just wondering if anyone has any tips or favorite recipes to share.
And, if anyone cares, the STJ glasses are dishwasher safe. Ruth says they are fired in an oven after they are painted. (May not be important to you guys, but it was to me. I'm kinda lazy like that.)

Where is Ron_L....he has a green egg, but I have not seen him post here in ages. Go back in the food porn thread and you'll see some stuff he cooked in it.
I really want a green egg someday, you are lucky!

I've been thinking about getting the big green egg but it is so expensive. A guy I work with just bought a webber and he loves it.

The Weber Bullet (Smokey Mountain Cooker) is a good smoker. But, the green egg holds heat better and works better in cooler climes. I've been waiting to buy a green egg for after I get my concrete patio poured; I don't think it would roll very well on grass.

We grilled steaks last night and they were good. It's a new experience for us, so it'll take some fine tuning. I have a friend who has a Weber, and he loves it. We have had a Holland Grill for years, but it only cooks at around 400 degrees. What I like about the EGG is the ability to control the temp. I checked out Ron_L's post and pictures of his EGG. That guy can cook!

I have a Weber Smoky Mountain cooker (bullet) but I'd like to get a BGE when I grow up...
In the interim Weber will be coming out with a new WSM that's a 22 inch diameter model (the existing ones are 18 inch) so that might make this year's Christmas list...
You're right about Ron L and his cooking - and he's a pretty fair coffee roaster to boot!
Enjoy your egg - I know you will!

We got the large EGG. It's supposed to be big enough to cook a 20 lb. turkey and the XL will cook 2 20 lb'rs. The only thing we wish we had bought was the wooden case thing that has shelves on each side. We thought we could ad that later, but now that's it's assembled, I'm not sure. Gonna try pork tenderloin tonight and pork butt soon.
EGG even has it's own forum. Think I can stir up any trouble there?
