May report: Friday-Sunday

Well, I just typed a hugely long report and when I hit submit it disappeared, so now, you'll get less typing and just the pictures. In summary:
On the last days we hit Baked in the Sun for breakfast. Friday was a Francis Bay day.

Koozies we had made to celebrate the engagement.
Visibility was poor that day, but Jason did find a nurse shark sleeping peacefully. He was thrilled since this was one of his goals. Everyone enjoyed viewing him until that horrid family arrived and caused a huge ruckus on the beach and then ran into the water and bragged about annoying the shark until it swam away. I seriously wanted to do bodily harm to that group.

We left shortly after their arrival and went to tour Annaberg. Wonderful views, great history.

I headed down the hill early and a local came up to me from the woods asking for a bottle of water. I said sure, when the others get back with the keys to the jeep where the water is. My first thought was dang, you know better than to go off by yourself. He also tried to sell me some of his stash to "help me relax". Thankfully he meant no harm and we just joked until the others arrived and we gave him drinks and were off. We went to Shipwreck for drinks. Shipwreck was a first for us this trip and will now be a regular. Love the t-shirt I purchased at the shops close by with "Same Planet, Different Attitude" as the slogan.

This was my uncle's girlfriend's last night so we chose Cafe Roma. Love that place. As we were walking down from Mongoose, the island went black. Never happened to us before and it was cool! We set on the cement blocks on the corner by Woody's and watched the island pass by with beer in hand as we chatted with Roma's staff. An hour later lights back on, into the restaurant to begin a wonderful meal. I had some vodka penne pasta with Italian sausage that was wonderful. Tons of leftovers!

Group at dinner
Stuffed and off to bed sad that Toni was leaving. Up Early and off to Vie's Beach. No one around. Uncle met us there for a snorkel after dropping Toni at the ferry. Vie wasn't open so we headed to Skinny Legs for one last bleu cheese burger. My brother and Jason got sick shortly after lunch and didn't feel better until days later. Not sure what caused that!
Back to the villa for one last swim and hot tub.

With drink in hand, mom found this machete laying in the grass by the steps. Funny pic, but if kids had found it, could've been dangerous.
The rest of the crew wanted to go shop and have a drink at Woody's, but Jason and I chose to stay in the hot tub. We were visited by the two pups who played in the pool and caused us to laugh until their owner came looking for them and dragging them home. We were treated to a great sunset.

The group arrived home with pizza from Cafe Roma's to go with our leftovers. We enjoyed dinner, but were subdued as we prepared to depart. I hate the last day!

The moon over the water was gorgeous!
Up the next morning for a fairly uneventful departure. Returned the vehicles to St. John Car Rental, quick and painless. I ran around for last minute shoppping at St. John Spice and Low Key. A huge straw bag, beach towel, magnets and pair of Reef's later, I was done. Talk about taking every last memento home with you! Flights were on time and easy. We said good bye to Lina in the Atlanta airport since she lives in Alabama and her parents were picking her up. Sad to see her go. We made it home and dogs and house were good.

The wedding is May 16th so we won't get our usual tropical May trip. Instead we'll do a driving tour of the south after the wedding while they head to Mexico for their honeymoon. They want an All inclusive place for their honeymoon. Jason and I hope to add to our family soon so we don't know for sure when we'll get to travel again, but now we are thinking of trying to squeeze in a trip in October if we are lucky.
Thanks for reading and letting me relive the trip. Until next time.....
