I'm on a role tonight, Jason is down with pneumonia and a collapsed lung so I may as well keep reliving the trip!
One thing to note: no blinds on the bedroom windows in Sol Inclination. Shutters close from the outside, but the ones needed to block out the sunrise from the Master Bedroom were almost impossible to get to. I didn't want to block out the sunrise anyway. Up at 5am to an awesome view.

Back to sleep, but only until 6am and then out to the balcony to read. I can NEVER sleep in on island. I have to soak all of it in! Everyone was up by 7:30 so we packed a cooler with sandwiches and didn't forget the rum punch in the gallon container. Hopped in the jeeps. Mom and dad took off for Baked in the Sun and we began the turn around in the driveway. I always drive everywhere on St. John so today was no exception. Everything was fine until I put the car in reverse and it kept going forward. I don't scare easily and I swear I saw our lives flash before us as we came so close to going over that edge to the road below. I slammed on the gas and we were skidding until finally something caught and we were safe. I never parked at the top again. The walk up the huge hill was fine with me!!

I could just picture mom and dad driving below and here we come sailing across the top of the cliff as they went on their merry way.
We made it to Baked in the Sun and I don't think this place gets enough press! We love it! Great breakfast sandwiches, bagels with veggie cream cheese, sweets and great lunch sandwiches too. They were our breakfast stop every morning and the staff there were super friendly and fun this trip. It seemed mostly locals were coming in while we were there. The raspberry granola bars are my favorite! We made our way down the North Shore to Maho. Maho is probably our entire family's favorite beach. The snorkeling has never disappointed us it's never been crowded. No one on the beach yet this early.

Lina had to take pics of the flowers left from the night before.
We snorkeled and swam and enjoyed rum punch. The first day on the beach in St. John is the BEST!

We kept an eye on the time because we knew my uncle and his girlfriend would be arriving in the afternoon and they were the newbies of the group. Neither of them had ever been to the Caribbean or on vacation in years!! A perfect day at the beach and then we went to the Beach Bar so we'd have cell service to await their arrival. They were on the 4:00 ferry, woohoo! Some beer and tequila shots made our wait for them go by quickly. They came off the ferry with the look of AWE on their faces and we whisked them away to get their jeep and drive to the villa. They enjoyed the tour and just kept looking around like they had to be dreaming!

They quickly got into the vibe of the island!
By the time they settled in, it was time for dinner and Banana Deck was the place of choice.

We enjoy this restaurant for it's reasonable prices, ability to seat large groups easily and good food with a variety on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal, especially those who ordered steak(and we are picky steak eaters). I had some kind of super rich chicken dish that was so good. My only complaint is that the drinks here are extremely tasty, but we never feel they have much of a kick to them! By the time dinner was finished, it was another early night. This is our theme, early to bed and early to rise! Tomorrow, Tuesday and Trunk Bay.
