Yes.
Remember, life is too short and you can't take it with you.

Seems cheap!!! If my math is correct that's only 12500.00 per kid per year. I hope they're getting food,
Look on the bright side. If they take a credit card you almost have one free seat on AA FF program.

It's not just you. We're in the same boat and the guilt eats away at me every time I think about it. But the siren call of St John is just too hard to resist!

I feel your pain and we only have one kid in school. Thankfully, tuition here is just close to 6K a year. We also cover all of his expenses too, like health, life and car insurance. Plus we keep money in an account for him to eat at school, and cover whatever course study trips or conferences he does with school. His next trip, 5 weeks in Italy and worth 6 credits, is in May and is going to be close to 8K, this is the biggest (and last!) trip thus far. The others have been about 3K. Thankfully, by scrimping and saving, cutting coupons, etc for our own personal life...we do it debt free. So by the time he finishes in Dec 2007, he'll be debt free and so will we. Yahoo!!!
And, I refuse to give up vacations. My husband and I, as do all of you, work too hard not to vacation. We try to do a couple of nice vacations a year.
I'm just thankful that our son is only on the payroll for one more year and then, hopefully, he'll be gainfully employed and on his own. Yahooey!!!

I am amazed how much people are paying for the kids school - I personally still owe 17K for my own school - after paying for 10 years on my loans - you guys are very generous!!!!

We've only had one so far in college. We helped with the tuition, he took loans for the rest...still has 25k to pay off...life happens...and he can't work in his field...long story...anyway
We are far from debt free...
We also know that life is short, work full time and way hard with no chance of retirement so we have decided...live while we can, enjoy traveling while we are healthy and love our trips to the USVI.
We so totally relate to you!

I HAVE SO ENJOYED HEARING FROM EVERYONE. AS I THOUGHT, ALL OF YOU ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH ME ABOUT GOING TO ST JOHN - WHAT A SHOCK! SOMETIMES, THOUGH I DO START TO WORRY ABOUT MY PRIORITIES. THANKS FOR THE REINFORCEMENT. SEE YOU ALL ON THE BEACH! THE BILLS WILL STILL BE THERE, BEACH OR NOT.......

Okay, I can relate. I just quit my plush job as a partner in a large firm and am starting my own firm...just me and an assistant. Money is going to be tight until the new firm gets legs. But, that's not going to stop us from going to STJ for two weeks this spring. What can I say...it's what we do...for each other...no matter what. I guess it's all about priorities. For Marcia and me, our annual trip to STJ is a priority.

I definitly agree! Travel keeps my husband and I sane the rest of the year! I'll never be out of debt but I don't want to feel like I can't travel. I would go crazy! St John has stolen our hearts!
