8 Days to go and NO MASTER PLAN

I can't believe I am just a little over a week out and I have NO plan. NONE. I have tickets and a villa and a car. That's it. What is wrong with me? This is not the flip-flop I have come to know.
I think I am a bit more laid back because its just the hubby, the kiddos and myself. How complicated can it be right?
I fear without a plan we may just end up in the pool every day all day and at Island Blues every night for dinner.
We arrive on a Friday so I was considering Brunch at Miss Lucy's on Sunday & possibly doing a trip over to the BVI on the ferry. Any suggestions for me?

Fear Not Flip-Flop.......I'll be your Master........plan.
Actually, it sounds like a pretty good plan to me, lay around, pool, drink, eat, sleep, pool, eat, drink......

Flip Flop - that's the best way to go. Just wake up every morning and think, "What beach are we gonna go to today, or is the villa gravity just too strong so staying by the pool is the option."
You know it doesn't matter as you will be in paradise with the ones you love most! Have a great trip and enjoy every minute of whatever you do.

If it was just my core family, I could go plan-less. I think a trip with just Hubs and the kids sounds great and I am sure you will have an awesome time.
I can't wait to see the trip reports!

Flip - You don't need a plan. Isn't that part of what you go to STJ to get away from?

I was just telling someone today that once I get on my plane in Atlanta, I cease to have plans until I head home. You have to have a plan to maneuver the Atlanta airport.
I have nothing planned for our next trip, and I like it that way.
I think everyone should take the ferry over to Jost and spend the day with Ivan. Unless they are there when I am; that beach isn't really that big! Just make sure you all have passports -- that does require some planning.
It all comes together when you get there...

Hate to rain on your parade sister but did you ever consider that NOT having a plan is in fact YOUR PLAN?
I winged it last December with the " 'I don't have a plan' Plan" and it worked out just great.
If anything I loved not having anywhere to be and just hung out at Island Blues with the locals and did shots and played cards. And if I wanted to go to Skinny's every day for lunch- then that's what we did.
Of course, I'd be happy to tag along as Julie, your cruise director -- I even carry bags!!
Just 115 days to go for me!!

It sounds like you do have a plan...a plan to relax! I never make plans, and our trips always turn out just fine.
You don't need a "master plan" for St. John...I think you are still traumatized from your Disney vacation.
Have a great trip!

For me a master plan = plane tickets + villa reservation + car reservation, in that order...so by my standards you’re just where you need to be

Flip-Flop, we get there the same day as you (can't wait!!!), and we have no plan, either! I usually plan every trip to death, but not this time. This will be our 3rd trip to STJ, and both of the others had other people involved: my sister-in-law and her family the first trip, and good friends the last trip. We did have a lot more planned-out excursions for both of those trips. This time it is me, hubby, son, and son's best friend, that's it. The boys are 13 and they both love to snorkel, so that's pretty much what we'll do. I did print out the cruise ship schedule so I know which are the best Trunk days. The ONLY things we scheduled were a massage for hubby our first full day there since he has a bad back and neck and he'll need it after a long travel day, and the NPS Reef Bay Trail hike on Thursday since I am determined to see the petroglyphs, finally! We thought about a sailing trip, but hubby and son's friend both get seasick, so we nixed that. I never got around to renewing our son's passport, and even though I know we could still go to the BVIs with his birth certificate, we decided not to do that, either. I really just want to totally relax this time, go with the flow, and have everyone Be Happy. If hubby wants a villa gravity day and the rest of us want to snorkel, so be it. None of us are really into shopping (although I am getting a new hook bracelet and I MUST get more Cruz Bay Grill Rub from Ruth!), so no St. Thomas days. I am SO looking forward to not having to deal with conflicting interests, compromises, and instead just doing exactly what we feel like that day. Not that we had bad trips before--they were both great, and both were very different--but this time I feel like we'll get exactly the vacation we want. 8 more days!

Hey Flip
I think Miss Lucy's is now closed for season - I keep calling and no one answers
Check out Ruth's list for restaurant closings while you are here - Sweet Plantains and Shipwreck's last night is Aug 31st

See what happens when I don't have a master plan. Miss Lucy's goes and closes
BTW, Pia are you greeting me?
I guess that means Sunday on Jost sounds pretty good.
