I can help you if you have your pictures stored on Picasa (from Google) on the web.

eehman, Did you just return from STJ? How did you like Ristaba?

We did just return very late saturday night. I am attempting to post a trip report with pictures but am not technilogically advanced! I'm working on it though. I did like Ristaba for our purposes- there was 11 in our group- my daughter is 4 and my son 20 months- and we had our neighbors and babysitters with us. If we had been able, we would have stayed at the villa we own with others- ellison villa. So I kept comparing it to ours- which is obviously newer (but smaller). Ristaba has an amazing view and a very large pool and a great location. It does have wear and tear on it- and some small things bothered me- for example we took the beach chairs out to the beach and more than half were broken and rusted. I did report that to the management company so hopefully they will take care of it. Our house phone never worked either and it gets very very hot upstairs. There are fans but not outside on the porch. All in all, a good experience- but I definitely missed some of the more modern conveniences present in newer homes.

Welcome home! It must be hard to be on island and not to be in your villa. I would do the same thing - compare yours to where you stayed - especially since yours is brand new. I hope the management company fixes the issues for the next guests. I need to figure out the picture posting thing also. I so appreciate it when TR includes them and felt like mine was lacking without them. I look forward to your posting!

Picture posting tutorial would also help me as I am computer challenged and get very frustrated trying to post pictures
If someone would explain it, I have my pictures on Picassa and shutterfly also.

I use Photobucket if anyone is interested in directions on how to use it. I'm not at all tech savvy, but photobucket works out pretty well.

I have never used Picasa, but I know there are those on here who have. I also use photobucket (except while I was on STJ and the internet service just couldn't handle the upload) and I have always been satisfied with the ease of uploading and posting picture to this site or others.

I will make an attempt to help those picture posting challenged.

First you need your photos uploaded to an online photo album like Picasa. It is totally free and has good photo editing software. Once your pics are uploaded you will have created an album. Open the album by clicking on it. You should see all the photos you uploaded. Choose a pic in the album, and click on it. On the right next to the photo you will see 'Link to this Photo'. Left click on that. Now you should see two link options. One for email links and one for HTML to be embed in a website. HTML to embed in a website is what you use for this board. You will need this bulletin board open in another window on your computer. So you should have Picasa open in one window and VI On Line in another. Next, to copy that link from Picasa, you left click to highlight the link (it should turn blue), then right click on copy. Then go to the VI Online window. You obviously need to be logged in and in a new post or replying to an existing post. To paste the link in the post you need to place the cursor where you want the photo to begin. Like I want this photo to be under this sentence. So I just press enter to move the cursor down.
Then you would right click, and then click on paste. The link should appear.

To preview and test it, VI Online has a preview button to see what you are about to post. Hopefully I didn't miss something.
