We have been visiting Saint Thomas for 29 years and last night we took a stroll down memory lane. Do you remember....
Cafe' Normandy and the wonderful after dinner ports
For The Birds
Daddy-O's
When the Green Parrot was owned by Tom Dunn and it was one of the best places to eat on the island.
Sparky's - everywhere but especially loved the bar at the air port with no ventilation
There was an actual working dairy farm at the Udder Delite
When the best places at Yacht Haven were the Upper Deck and Acacia
East Coast Bar and Grill had the best burgers on the island - that title now belongs to the Shipwreck Tavern
Fat Man's at Smith Bay
The Fiddle Leaf at Watergate
The Lobster House with the piano bar at Limetree Inn
When Sibs had the best ribs and johnny cakes in the world
When there was a Sibs by the Sea
When Mafolie was the place to go on your first night but you had to make reservations from home
The Drunken Shrimp
Rico's Thunder
When Jim Tillett actually did his silk screes
El Papa Guyos
When Eunices's had only about enough room for 8 people and four goats
The Inn at Mandahl and the large great dane that greeted you
Virgin Isle Hotel
When Cosmopolitian was the place to buy bathing suits
When Mountain Top had character and was not just a mall on the mountain.
When Virgillos was brand new and you could afford to eat there more than once in three weeks
Flying in and almost hitting the mountain or the wind caused you to return to San Juan
Berry's Farm

What did I miss? Share your memories

Wow - some of these really take me back!! I stayed at the Virgin isle Hotel on my first visit, I worked at that dark Sparky's airport bar - best air conditioning on the island! - and married into the family that owned the Crazy Cow!!

Rico's Thunder is now El Cubano in Smith Bay.

Crazy Cow? Slipaway Lounge? Don't remember them....where were they or are they still around.

Cray Cow was a little 12 stool burger place off of Main Street - great greasy cheeseburgers! and open 22 hours a day.

Slipaway was a bar out at Red Hook, in the back of the plaze where Duffy's is now. Had NO windows and pool tables.

Hey Guys,

Does anyone remember a restaurant/bar on STT named Magnolia's Peach?
I may not have the name exactly right.
About 20 years ago I dated a guy who had just left working there and moved to Richmond, Va.
The company had actually paid to have his car, a beautiful new blue Firebird, shipped down to STT to bribe him to work there.
I've always wondered about the place.
Thanks. 8)

My Brother was a bartender at the East Coast Bar and Grill for a couple of years. It doesn't seem that long ago, but it's been eighteen or so years.

Cheers, RickG

Forgot to remember one of my all-time faves on STJ:

Grumpy's (which literally blew up in the 90's) - I just love this sign!

I was there when Grumpy's was still around..
when the Beach Bar was Pussers and
there was a popular Mexican restaurant in Coral Bay (the name escapes me)
The Westin was the Hyatt...
I think John Bon Jovi was the only musician in Peter Bay...
