Hi all. Spent a great week in stj and stt back in June (16-23) with my wife and another couple. It was our first visit and their 4th or 5th.

This is my first time posting here, but the forum was really helpful in preparing. Thought I'd share some of our pics and what my wife wrote of the trip. Thanks.

Cool blog! I did not know you could get the red beans and rice at Miss Vies without the sausage. I'll have to remember that for next time. I just assumed it was all cooked together.

I'm glad you had a nice trip. Thanks for sharing!

What restaurant were you eating at when the cat jumped on your lap? :)

Hi Teresa. The restaurant was Sweet Plantains in Coral Bay. Even though we have two at home, me and cats don't often see eye to eye... so this was a surprise.

BTW... for non-vegetarians among us, I thought the crab dip with tostones (fried and squashed green plantains) was super. Had a pretty good swordfish dish there too. For something more casual, I also really enjoyed Shipwreck Landing right down the road as well.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for sharing. The food porn pics are making me hungry. While I am not a vegan, I do enjoy trying different things and the food you decribed sounds delish.

Great food porn, I'm hungry! Good tip on the Asolare protein flexibility.

The Kiwi-Colada came from JJ's, the tex-mex cafe right by the ferry docks/open air market in Cruz Bay. From what I remember, the bartender used a whole kiwi when making the drink.

That does sound good! I had a great Bloody Mary at JJ's last Saturday morning to help me get through my "walk of woe". Wish I was there now.
