Second Week:

July 17th-Back to Salomon. We walked from Caneel this time instead of Lind Point Trail. The water was a little rough-waves but not much current. We enjoyed another day of snorkeling & reading on the beach. Went to the Banana Deck for Dinner. The food was great & we enjoyed the steel drum player.

July 18th-We went on a daysail with Captain Phil. This was our second trip with him. Captain Phil is wonderful & both our sails with him have been memorable experiences. We snorkeled Lovango Cay (awesome) & Conga Cay. After arriving back at Cruz Bay, we went to the Beach Bar for Painkillers & another sunset. Picked up ribs from Uncle Joe's & took them back to the cottage. Ate on our front porch & checked out the full mooon. What a fun day!

July 19th-Went to Salt Pond again. Saw 3 turtle, 2 spotted drums & a large barracuda. We stopped at Shipwreck Landing to eat (we like this place). This time we split the beer battered tacos. They were huge!

July 20th-Did a little shopping at Mongoose Junction this morning. Since there were no cruise ships in St. Thomas, we decided to go to Trunk Bay. It was still crowded but not lilke when there are ships in port. We saw 2 turtles-lots of turtles this year. We stayed at Trunk & watched the sunset. Beautiful!

July 21st-We were drinking our coffee this morning when the power went off. We were not able to cook breakfast but at least we had our coffee. Snorkeled at Cinnamon Bay today. We had planned on walking to Little Cinnamon in the afternoon, but felt lazy by then & ended up staying at Cinnamon. Maybe we will get there next time. Had dinner at the Beach Bar & watched another sunset. So many pretty sunsets this year. I think we must have 500 sunset pictures.

July 22nd-Our last day. :( Back to Honeymoon. The water was rough again today & this time there was a current. Enjoyed snorkeling during the morning but in the afternoon we started seeing lots of jellyfish-large pink & blue ones. We have seen the little clear ones before but never the large colored ones. They were pretty but... We saw a turtle eat one of the jellyfish which was amazing. It is always so hard to leave the beach on the last day but we finally started walking back to the car about 5:30. Had dinner at our place, did some packing, & then went to Compass Rose for one last Bushwacker.

July 23rd-I put out sugar one last time for the Bananaquits. They seemed to be waiting for me each morning. We had our breakfast & too soon it was time to leave. Took the 10:30 ferry to St. Thomas. Made a stop at the liquor store & then tookk the car back to Discount. Our plane was suppose to leave St. Thomas at 2:50 but it was after 4:00 before we took off. Seems there was a small plane stalled on the runway. We were scheduled to leave Miami at 9:00 but our plane was delayed in Washington, D.C. because of bad weather. It was 11:00 before we left Miami & 1:30 before we landed at DFW. We were exhausted & M. had to get up & go to work! We had an absolutely marvelous trip. The weather was beautiful & the snorkeling was outstanding. We are already looking forward to the next time. Hopefully, next summer. :D

Great photos and nice TR.. A hint for folks if the North Shore Beaches are rough, head to Francis or better yet to Salt Pond. If one side of the island is getting battered then further down or the opposite side is usually smooth as glass.
