Hello Forum,
Have you ever seen Herman's wood art http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3kxBmJix6U .I think it going to be collectable someday  I do think there is something very cool about it, like it's out of the past or something. That's my St.John thought of the day!

Peace and Paradise Gene :D

I used to see him setup near Morgan's during the day selling his work. Where can you find his work these days?

Cheers, RickG

I love Hermam, he was wittling away Rick over by where the ferries take ya to the BVI's when I was there in March.
Then he met up with me at Mongoose and was wittling there too.

Herman has been a fixture around STJ for a long time. In the past he also sold plants. He's such a pleasant person.

Herman lives up on Bordeaux. You can often see him walking up or down the road there. He calls himself a botanist and is very knowledgeable about local plants. He is interesting to talk with and you will learn much about the local trees etc.

Herman's been spotted hanging out at the Marketplace (Starfish) in front of the bookstore for a while now.

I couldn't see the video on the laptop. What kind of art work is it? Does he sell it on front of Starfish or just hang out there? So far, we haven't missed stopping at least once there everyday day. :?

Herman does very simple face carvings into tropical hardwood. He's got some pieces in the bookstore across from Starfish.

We were shopping at Starfish one afternoon and on our way out, there was a gentleman sitting in a chair under the tree where you make the sharp turn to go down driveway. He was carving small wooden objects and I thought it looked very interesting. The other times we went back, I always looked for him, wanting to maybe purchase something. Maybe next year
