When you get to the end, does the boat come right to the beach or do you have to swim out to it?

One in my group does not know how to swim and he's not sure he wants to lug his "Woobie vest" (Floatation vest) down the trails.

Also...I am thinking I'll now need a better (by better, I mean "working" waterproof bag for my stuff.

Who has taken the NPS trip and can offer some wisdom?

If the Sadie Sea still does the pickup, they have a dinghy that takes people out to the boat. I swam it, and mrs b took the dinghy. I beat them out.

I was going to go last year, and they told me that a dinghy takes you out to the boat, because I am not much of a swimmer at all.

I wasn't keen on getting wet so we took the dingy. I know beer was available for purchase on the way back to town. We sat up top and really enjoyed the ride.

And if you still want to swim, but don't want to take a dry bag for your stuff, just throw the bag in the dinghy, It will only be out of your sight for a few minutes.
In February of last year, we were fortunate to see a mother and calf humpback whale just after we got up to speed after boarding Sadie Sea and while still in Reef Bay. The captain alerted the passengers so we could all have the opportunity to see them.

When we did the trip in 2004 most of us took the dinghy - it was pretty rough that day.

Thanks for the help. We'll be throwing Tom headlong into the dinghy along with the bags and empty water bottles. Me and the Mrs will swim it.

I must say that I am beyond totally excited (see...I'm sounding like a 12 year old girl...OMG! TMI WTFBBQ?) to do this and see the petroglyphs.

I told the Mrs that before either of us got inked up with images of them, we needed to go see them ourselves.

I did this in May, and it was the Sadie Sea, they were great and there seemed to be free flowing rum punch with a few other bottles kicking around, I saw no indication that I should have paid for my consumption ...there are dinghy's or you can swim as others have said, just confirm that the boat is indeed part of the package as I understand there are times when that might not be the case due to rough seas perhaps? Enjoy.
