Keeping your car rental clean

Thought I'd share a couple of suggestions about helping to keep your car rental clean that we always do thanks to SO that thinks ahead about these things.

We bring our empty water bottles filled with tap water and leave them in the car and use them to wash the sand off of our feet when we get back from the beach to the car...sometimes we just fill them up at the beach.

Also, to keep our seats dry we use garbage bags (SO brings contractor bags) on our seats when we are wet. It helps keep that mildew smell down and allows you to ride in it later when you are dry.

Just a couple of tips in case ya'll haven't thought about those kinds of things.

I sweep the car out with the house broom. If the house has a vacuum cleaner I give it a quick shot before we leave. I'll also give the car a quick squirt with the hose before we leave the villa if its muddy.

Cheers, RickG

No only do those water jugs help to keep the car clean, they feel oh so good to just get that sand off your feet. I swear by that practice.

We brought a $2 wisk broom with us from our camping gear bag (normally used to sweep out the tent) to sweep the sand off. the soft brisles feel pretty good too. That way you keep the floor that much drier and that's a gallon or two of water that doesn't need to be poured on the ground.

Hi! I,m one of the elusive forum "lurkers". I enjoy looking in! No one has posted my idea so I feel compelled to write.
I have a great way to get rid of sand on your feet, and away from your car. Keep a container of baby powder in your bag.(No name brand is fine) When you get back to your car sit and dangle your feet outside. Apply a liberal dose of powder on your feet and rub. The sand will come off easily.(feels good too)
