Day 3
After villa gravity on Sunday, we got up had light breakfast on the deck and headed for Maho Beach to relax and snorkel.

We got one of the first parking spaces and headed out for our first snorkel.

Beyond that it was relax in the sun with a couple of good books and frequent naps.

Wait! Don't those people down the beach look familiar? Even though we had a slight alcohol haze at the Beach Bar the night before we seem to recognize the gentleman and his posse of beautiful women. Yup, that was BenChill! We hung out with them in waist deep, clear, warm water for a while. What a great group! We left around 3:00pm and headed for Starfish Market for miscellaneous items while enjoying a small rain shower. Back home to make dinner. Grilled a steak and chicken skewers with corn on the cob and garlic bread, yummy!

So far, the mosquitoes have been very very good to Jean (this probably has to do with the drought St. John is having), hope it lasts another 10 days!. We purchased some "natural ingredient" mosquito repellent patches at REI before we left. I'm not sure whether they worked really well or there just weren't that many noseeums around.
Day 4
Got up at 6:30 and decided to hike the Lind Point Trail which starts at the National Park Visitors Center in Cruz Bay to the Lind Point Battery Overlook then on to Salomon and Honeymoon Bays. Took pictures at the overlook and elected to hike to Honeymoon Beach which is slightly farther than Salomon.

We were the only people on the bay when we arrived. It was beautiful. After napping a bit, it started to sprinkle.

We protected our stuff as best we could and headed out to snorkel around the point between Honeymoon and Salomon. This was the best snorkel we had in a long time. We swam around the point to Salomon Beach which was lovely. We'd probably stop there instead of Honeymoon the next time. We saw lots of huge Elkhorn coral and gobs of beautiful fish. It rained really hard as we were snorkeling which was kinda cool. Funny, we weren't that concerned about getting wet - go figure!

By the time we got back to Honeymoon Beach it had gotten really crowded. Where the heck did everyone come from?! That convinced us it was time to pack up and head back up the trail to the car and head home. We took a dip in the pool, cleaned off the snorkel gear, and headed for Skinny Legs for lunch.

Jean had the Mahi Mahi sandwich and Mark had their special of the day which was a Jack Daniels burger. Rinsed everything down with a couple of Pain Killers. It was still drizzling so we just took a ride to the Southeast end past Salt Pond. It started raining heavily so what else could we do but go home and take a nap!
That evening we drove into Cruz Bay and had dinner at the Fish Trap. Jean had grilled Mahi Mahi (there's a pattern growing here, since she had a jerked Mahi Mahi sandwich at the Beach Bar on Sunday & the Mahi sandwich for lunch) and Mark had lobster stuffed with crab and a bottle of Chardonnay followed by excellent Key Lime pie. We took a walk and stopped by Pink Papaya and had a nice chat with Lynn, the owner.
