We are planning to go to Jost Van Dyke next week for our annual visit to Soggy Dollar. This year we were thinking we would snorkel as well (BEFORE we start the painkillers) Is there any good snorkeling on Jost and if so can the beaches be reached by local taxi?

Our Ocean Runner captain told us there was no really good snorkeling off of Jost, closest was Sandy Spit.

Get your boat to take you to the Indians and/or the Caves in the morning and then head for the Soggy Dollar for lunch and refreshments. Don't do it the other way around or you'll never leave the SD.

I agree, we should try to get the So Cal STJ groupies together and compare notes after you get back.
I also strongly recommend Sandy Spit and the Indians. Also the Caves if you haven't been there yet - but agree, go PRIOR to the Soggy Dollar!
Last stop Soggy Dollar

No matter what our LAST STOP will be Soggy Dollar...I pretty much call it a day - with a hammock and a painkiller.

Ain't life grand???

Just keep repeating as you swing in that hammock... "The scenery is HERE, wish you were beautiful!" Then take another sip!

I have to say, on White Bay, I prefer (when it's not packed) to be in that gorgeous water with a drink in my hand looking all around me.
That water is just so gorgeous!!!
