Anguilla Trip Report - Part 3

Tuesday we headed out to explore the island a little more. Went to Palm Grove Restaurant at Savannah Bay first....very secluded, nice beach, and cold beer. Went to Roy's Bayside Grill, Pyrat Rum Factory, and just tooled around the island. Came back to Shoal Bay for lunch, then hung out on the beach.
We had reservations tonight at Straw Hat, and were really looking forward to it. Our reservation was for 6:30, which I think is the perfect time. The sun is still out, and you can get there in time to have a drink and watch the sun go down. The food was good and the atmosphere even better. Spring Roll appetizer was fabulous! I had grouper, which was excellent, and Matt had a pesto/cilantro/pine nut pasta that was a bit too rich and heavily seasoned. But again, the atmosphere was worth it. 1 app, 2 entrees, and 3 drinks were around $125.
Wednesday was our last full day on the island. We went to Smitty's for a rum punch (it was really good), but are glad we didn't eat there. Smitty was quite a character, that's for sure. Very nice guy. Met another couple who said their lunch there was a $60 rip-off and terrible. At 1 we had a boat excursion with Shoal Bay Scuba. Our boat left Shoal Bay and headed to Prickly Pear. They had pre-ordered our lunch, and it was ready when we got there. I had chicken and ribs, Matt had fish of some sort. It was really good, and we enjoyed the company of our group. We had another beer or two there, then it was off for snorkeling. That was the drawback of this trip...didn't really have any time to relax/swim/snorkel at Prickly Pear. I would have enjoyed some more time there. Anyway, we stopped at 2 snorkel sites, and they were ok but not great. But it was still nice to be out on the ocean. Our 2nd snorkel stop (I think it was Crocus Bay?) was pretty cool - there was a large rock there that you could climb and jump off of. Probably 20 or 30 feet up.
After the excursion we cleaned up, then headed back up to Ku to enjoy the sunset and live music. It was a great night! Ku has a fabulous sunset view, and we really wished that we'd spent another evening there. By the way, if you go, asked for Myra's Mango drink......
*I would like to post some pictures, but have no idea how to do it.
I looked back at an old post that had instructions, but am having no luck. My pictures are on Shutterfly - is it possible to cut and paste from there, or would I have to use another hosting site (like photobucket)?
