Let me see how much of this I can get through this time...
Snorkeling- All five of us snorkeled at some level, my buddy Doug being the most avid one, me next then the ladies. My wife was a snorkeling rookie this trip so I tried to help her get into it too.

Our first day was Sunday and we chose Little Maho that day to allow my wife to ease into things. The groovy people at the campground office were very friendly and glad to have us "crash" their beach. The water was very calm, soft entry via the beach, and the snorkeling was really pretty good out there on the left at Maho point, between Lille and Big Mahos. This is a good starting point for a calm snorkel.
The second day was Denis Bay, we hiked in from the Peace Hill parking lot, it was an easy hike and well worth it. We had this place to ourselves this day :D I snorkeled mostly around the pier posts and I was looking for the big anchor but never found it. The water had a pretty good chop the day we were there and I had to be careful of shallow coral.

As I looked for the anchor I started thinking- "wow, there's alot of cool coral out here...who cares about a stinking old anchor" (well, maybe it was my way of NOT accepting defeat...), anyhow, there was some pretty cool coral out there, a couple big brains, some Elkhorn, and all the other usual characters...

I liked Denis Bay alot!
The next dat the ladies decided to go to Tortolla so us boys went to Waterlemon...I had eggs & filet mingnon & beer for breakfast and was feeling a little like Jesus (pro-nounced "hay-soose")so we drove our Jeep the whole way down the gravel path to the end where the walking trail starts...frick it...it's a rental...Then we walked the whole way around to the closest point to the Cay and put in there...first cool thing I saw was a big-ole turtle...

This guy was totally cool and didn't give a crap about what we were doing... Long story short, we snorkeled around the cay for a good hour or so and saw lots of nice coral, a barracuda (~3-4 ft long), and a cool spotted ray (~7 foot tail!)....

Waterlemon was a good snorkel!
The next day we snorkeled at Cinnamon bay, near the beach out to the cay...it was very nice there too...same stuff as waterlemon but not as much. We saw a couple squid at Cinnamon...
The last day was Jumbie and I was dissaponted with Jumbie...most stuff was dead...it sucked for snorkeling. That's all for today...
Bye bye... :D

Sherban,
I've been trying to catch up on your reports (I am off to the Deep South tomorrow and it has been kinda hectic) and I'm looking forward to it more. Of all the snorkeling I have done on St. John, I haven't encountered a single spotted eagle ray - yet. I totally envy you! I'll be checking your reports from the Deep South!

Yeah, Jumbie stinks for snorkeling. I like swimming there though.

Cool that you saw an eagle ray. That's the only sighting I missed last trip.
