Well today is the final packing day  My wife and I would like to thank everyone for all the tips and advice. It has been a long 11 year wait since our return to St. John. We're ready to make memories with the kids and promise to write a trip report about the trials ans tibulations about taking teen agers to a non commercial vacation. They're already complaining that I told them no cell phones because I don't want to see a $100.00 text messaging bill. Shower queen alone, sends and receives 7,000 a month. Thanks again for all the help! 8)

7000 a MONTH? Zounds! I hope you have a good cell phone plan and a good medical plan so you can afford to deal with her texting carpal tunnel! LOL!

Seriously, though, HAVE A SUPER TIME!

Have a great time! Your kids are going to love it. Mine thought that they couldn't survive without a computer for a week, but they did.

You all have a great trip! Yes, kids can text like there's no tomorrow, but the good news (at least for us) last year was the AT&T's rates were the same on STJ as KY. They'd text awhile, swim, snorkel, text. read, eat, text, text, text, swim, etc. Maybe the rates will be the same for you, too.

have verizon, which does not have direct service on STJ, 75 cent a min and I'm guessing text messages 10 to 25 cent each

Before I went to STJ, I called Verizon and got on a $5 a month unlimited texting plan. I sent & received several texts while we were there and my phone bill didn't suffer at all. :D

Holy text message Bat Man. I would have to give you the same advice I give the charter guests. Put the cell phone in a zip lock and throw it into the bilge for the duration of the cruise. That girl needs a serious intervention. Give her some snorkel gear and send her out to sea. Don't get me wrong I love the INTERNET and Deb's addicted to her iPhone but 7000 text messages a month that is over 200 a day in and out she definitely needs a week on the rock unplugged.
Enjoy your trip and good luck with shower queen.
