We're beginning our villa search for our summer 2009 trip...I'm hoping some of you who've traveled with larger groups would have some recommendations. We'll be traveling with my wife's family - 7 adults and 4 children. So, we'd probably need a 5 bedroom. A few that we have looked at:

Ristaba (thanks Rick G!)
Coco Caribe
Jazz Villa
La Papaya
Vistaero
Kabage Patch

Any thoughts on those, or any new recs would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Almost forgot...In addition to the 5 bedrooms, we would also need A/C in at least the BR's, a pool, and a decent view. Not asking for too much! I guess it could also be a 4 BR if a couple of the BR's have a sleeper sofa.

mb...I neglected to add Oceana to my list on the original post. We looked at that last night...Certainly a consideration.

Waterguy...I thought about that, but I think the wife really wants to stay under one roof. I gotta tell you though, with a house full of in-laws, I will be hooked up to a Painkiller IV!!!!!

I've done some large groups and it is seprate houses for me now. Good luck buy extra booze.

I'd recommend Villa Panache highly---5 Bedrooms plus an extra room with sofabed, 6 baths. Wonderful large great room. Beautiful south shore view. Also Oceana looks great.

Lots of combos with 2 villas next to each other. Palm Hill and Colibri are right next to each other and both have great views.

I don't think Ixora looks bad either.

How about Villa Tesori?

I can HIGHLY recommend Vistaero for your group. This villa is HUGE and will afford the group plenty of privacy, while its enormous pool and deck space let everyone spent great time together. The bedrooms all have ac and private baths, the kitchen is fantastic for group cooking (including VERY large saute/fry pans), and the views are absolutely stunning. Our group of 9 loved it so much, we booked it again for next year. If you have any question, or would like pictures, feel free to pm me.

Sage advice, waterguy. BTW, do you think if I took like a half-dozen or so rum punch samples at the airport for myself that would be considered "obnoxious"? Like, if I cleared the table of rum punch on the way through, would the nice folks from Cruzan be upset? "Listen folks...It's gonna be a long week!"

Don't count on it when I was there in April the stand wasn't open. So premadicate early and often and any chance you get make the store run and grab a quick one at the BB. LOL

Ristaba was GREAT for our large krewe (with four kids)and very convenient to town.

Don't know what age the kids are but if they are not toddlers, they can go to the Westin if they want.
