Water Taxi

We, four adults, one physically challenged, and two babies are planning to take a private water taxi to St John. We have looked at Dohm's and wonder if it is better to leave from Crown Point, closer to the airport, or Red Hook. In prior times we preferred the downtown ferry. Any suggestions? I know there is also water taxi based in Cruz Bay but don't know anything about it.

We have used Dohm's the last 2 years and a private taxi(Christopher's - met us at the airport) and he took us to a dock to meet Dohm's. I am not positive, but I think it is a state park dock perhaps??? Wouldn't go any other way!

I don't know the difference between taxi time to Crown Point versus Red Hook but in the past, Dohm's has steered us to Red Hook.

While I have never been to Crown Point, I thought the Park Dock was nice because more often than not, we were the only ones there. That made it nice as we didn't need to rush out of the way.

The unloading area is all concrete and completely flat, which may be desirable to the physically challenged one in your group.

Thanks, PA Girl. How many were in your party, and do you know the number or website for Dohms?

We had 9 in Feb (less in prior years) I believe the minimum fee is $100 for 1-5 people and $20 for each additional person after the first 5.

Dohms will arrange land taxi too.
