I'm sitting here working at home so I can go on vacation in 2 weeks and procrasting (life working for a start-up).
Question how is the food at St John festival. Is there a links showing you what's going on during the week before July 4th

Two think to be careful of:
- Hot sauce - there are some incendiary versions out as condiments
- seafood fritters that have sitting around for a while

I went to the St. John food fair in 2007. I was so excited, because if you have read my posts you know I LOVE food. Well, I might be a wimp but I just could not do it. It was HOT HOT HOT, and all of the food (fish) was sitting out on tables, no chilling. I was not willing to risk getting sick on my vacation.
Just my opinion.
We did enjoy a concert by the Love City Pan Dragons though!

Was thinking of walking around and getting things to eat after the beach bar gathering on June 28th

No, I meant that it was hot outside and the food was just sitting on the tables, unrefrigerated. Sorry for any confusion.

Most all of the food at the food fair and in the village is prepared by local ladies. A lot of the dishes are fried. Fried chicken legs are very popular. There is also welks and rice, fried fish and fungi, Johnny cakes - salt fish and beef paties, and assorted rotis, tamarind stew - Soups: Bull Foot soup, and Kalaloo. - Deserts: coconut, mango and pineapple tarts, Drinks: maubi and passion fruit juice and a whole lot of other Caribbean delicacies.
