I live in the S. Jersey area and usually fly out of Philly or Atlantic City but got a great price($430) on a direct flight out of JFK on AA. This will be my first trip out of JFK and I need some help. Where is the best place to park and any other JFK suggestions to make the traveling easier.
Thanks, Scott

Long-term parking at JFK is a reasonable option (about $15/day) - and the new, multibillion dollar shuttle between the lot and the terminals actually works pretty well, but its a bit of a hassle if you've got a lot of kids and/or luggage. It also makes a full circle around the terminal area, so allow some time for this.
I would imagine a car service from south jersey would be ridiculous, so this may be your only viable option.

Well, if your kids arent too small, make 'em carry their own weight!! Our first big family vacation, I didn't let my 5 and 6 year olds bring anything they couldn't carry themselves. As I recall, we didn't check any bags that trip, either. It was beautiful.

We usually do the direct flight from JFK to STT (love direct and the price is usually right) and do the long term parking. And I agree, the long term parking fee is very reasonable as well. The air train is easy to get to and a piece of cake. It's not that big of a walk after you get off the air train. I think the kids can definitely do it. Have fun! Ali~

We always fly out of JFK for our trips and we use a park and fly agency called Avistar. Very efficient and very reasonable. Pull in, park, get in their van and you are at your terminal in 5 minutes. Pick up from the airport on return is just as easy. They have a website. Check them out. We have never had a problem.

I was going to say Avistar. I used to use them at EWR and LGA when I lived up that way. They're usually more or less in line, price-wise, and I always felt a little safer with the car being there. Plus, in the winter, they warm it up for you when you get back. That's a good thing

We are looking into staying at the JFK Sheraton the night before the 8AM flight and leaving our car there. We have done this at Newark and used their shuttle to get back and forth to EWR. So we are hoping it will work about the same. Anyone done this at JFK?

We live in Northern NJ and have started going into JFK the night before. We stay at one of the parkfly hotels and take the shuttle to the airport . Gives us a night to decompress and cuts all the hassle of worrying about getting to the airport on time. The shuttles run every hour or 1/2 hour, don't remember. You are usually traveling with the crew from the planes.
