Airfare help- negotiating the BEST airfare

I mentioned this issue in another post-- the fact that the lowest airfare available may not always be your best bet.
These days you have to consider how much luggage you'll be taking, what it weighs and other factors depending on your lifestyle and travel habits.
Add in FF mile purchases and the extra fees that go along with that and you pretty much need a masters degree in math to help you figure out what really is the BEST deal.
