Just started reading the forums here and was wondering if there was a certain time limit as to when you could purchase trip insurance. My wife and I are going to be in STJ from July 12-19 so do I need to go ahead and purchase now? Or can I wait until a week or so before we head out?

Lots of folks here have had luck with CSA, but check their web site about time limits especially since you're travelling during hurricane season.
If memory serves, once the storm gets a name all bets are off.
MHO is if you can't afford to lose the $$$ buy the TI sooner rather than later. If you don't care about the $$$ then do't buy it.

CSA told me over the phone that you have to get trip insurance before final payment on our villa is due (so 60 days out).

Yikes

I guess I better get to buying then. We paid for our accomodations in full back in March.

I went with CSA to support the site & Anthony & after hearing good things from FlaGeorge.
Our trip is in August and I just bought the ins. about 2 weeks ago. We'll see. Final payment is due July 22 for the house.

We are traveling to STJ in July and I purchased our trip insurance from CSA through the link on this site yesterday. Have always been satisfied with CSA, of course, I have not had to make a claim. Maybe they are the good luck charm.

Ok, CSA just explained to me that you can buy the insurance up to the day of trip as long as there are no "named" hurricanes or other identified events that would cause the trip to cancel.

And if you decide to buy over the phone, be sure to mention VIOL.

"Forum Vision" - I'm blinded by it often.

The website is sure informative and price looks reasonable. Anyone ever had experience with a claim, whether trip cancelled or rental car accident or medical evac?
