Paper Moon back on the rental market

My brother and his wife had originally reserved this villa through Carefree Getaways for their first trip to STJ (like us before last year they have only been previously as cruise ship visitors).

Then they heard from CG that it was being sold, so they'd have to pick another place. They settled on Molly's Cottage on Chocolate Hole. Looked like a decent enough place, but I did warn him about the construction noise from the big development going on there. So he's recently been talking to them about alternatives. Most of what they had available was either in the same general area except for one property on Bordeaux Mountain. I checked all of the properties for reviews and comments from the forum and let him know what I found out.

Since their visit would be overlapping our's somewhat I was hoping they'd be able to find something fairly close to us, in the Coral Bay area.

Just heard from him this morning that Paper Moon is back in play, so they snapped it up. It's fairly close to us as it's on Johnson Bay. There's a complimentary kayak on the property and that's their favorite leisure activity, so that's good. And it's on our way to Salt Pond/Lameshur, so we can show them around Ram Head, Drunk Bay, etc.

I'm so glad that it worked out!

Fantastic!!

We were going to go back to our beloved Cygnus (now Beach Music) on Choc hole, but I called CV and asked them about the Pond Bay development. Since the debacle with Anole last year and the crazy cockroach problem I warned them not to dick me around on an answer so they referred me to on island staff.

I asked them about the noise and they said that on a scale of 1-10 the noise is at an 8. No thank you.

I know this sucks for villa owners adjacent this development but I am not spending my hard earned $$$ to listen to construction. Now if the rental co's are willing to offer a discount I might be willing to put up with it. But I'm sure as hell not paying top dollar to listen to noise.

I imagine if construction drags on, that they will have to start discounting (some $$ is better than no $$) or they will have to prey on folks who don't know the difference or don't know to ask what's going on in Choc Hole.

Personally I don't mind construction going on with a single house but that development is huge-- can you imagine the trucks!!??

**end rant**

Good for you!!
