Hey Forumites!
So my trip planning is nearing a concluson but one thing i have not figured out yet is what to do for dinner on our arrival day (wed the 18th). We are staying on the Coral bay side, and don't want to drive back into Cruz for any reason that night

. I've kinda narrowed it down to shipwreck, skinny's, or island blues (if they open it up b4 we get there). Just wondering what you all think would be the best coral bay restaurant experience to get us into island time. Thanks a ton!

P.S. you guys are great!

Obviously, VayCay had not read your TR yet before that question was posed...do you recommend the rib eye?

I totally and completely vote for Shipwreck Landing! It'll really get you into island mode, not to mention excellent food and drinks!

Sweet Plantains! It was my favorite meal of the entire trip, including all of the food I cooked myself.

Shipwreck Landing. Make sure to have a Bushwacker to put you right into the island mode!

For casual, Shipwreck hands (and "Fish and Chips") down - fabulous.

I'd go with Shipwreck as well. It's super casual and a nice environment, good food.
Hit Skinny's for lunch the next day and Sweet Plantains later that night!

Another vote for Shipwreck, though I'll be trying Sweet Plantains ... I think it gets thumbs up from both Liamsaunt and RickG now!

p.s. I looked on the website for shipwreck, and i couldn't find a contact number or anything about reservations. Are they necessary or just a walk in and wait type of place?

There's a link on Frommers.com and phone info. But I have to be honest-- I have NEVER made ressies for this place. The only place I make ressies is at Asolare.

VayCay, We made reservations for our group of 10 on our trip. (Peak season, though.) Our first attempt at Shipwreck it was packed, so we made reservations for another night. It was great! If you have a big group you might want to call in advance. There's an email on their website you can try.
And don't forget Miss Lucy's when you're in Coral Bay! Our first lunch there was at Lucy's, and the roti was sooooo good. I love those tables right out by the water.
