Hi Pia!

We will be on island from July 10-24. We'd like to bring something for the animal shelter. Crate, food, etc.? What do you recommend? What do they need the most? As 8 year fosters for retired racing greys (the ones they euthanize as early as 2 years if they aren't winning races) and our personal beautiful girl, Easy, who we had eight wonderful years with, we want to give something back. I would love to bring hom a pound dog from STJ. Have to get the S/O over and in the right frame of mind. We haven't have a dog in 3 years (new house being a factor). Let me know who I can e-mail to coordinate whatever's most needed.

OK, if you give me a little time (and we can do this via PM if you prefer) I will contact the shelter and get the exact person you can call and cordinate everything with.

Last week, as you may know, was Wagapalooza and I was talking to one of the organizers about our forum "family" possibly sponsoring one of the feeding stations for the wild cats. I am in the process of trying to get all of the info and facts on what the shelter has done for all the animals on STJ the last year, and will post as soon as I find out.

We would, of course, need to have Anthony's OK (hi Anthony

) but I think it would be cool if we could build a station like out at Vie's - paint it with the forum name and sponsors and I'll post the picture - maybe when Jorge is here he could help hubby build one with all the bells and whistles while I supply them with beer

If anyone else reads this and thinks they might like to participate let me know

Talk to everyone soon - and I'll get back to you later in the week as it will be hard to reach anyone over the holiday weekend.

Count me in! I think we could get something built in a day with time to spare. Let me know what tools I need to pack.

We will be back on STJ 11/1/2008 to 11/10/2008 and would love to give something back to the islands.

My best friend and shop dog of 13+ years passed away the day we left for STJ on 5/9/08.

Just not the same when we got back.

We still always have our friend waitng for us at the villa.

Thanks,Pia, for your reply. I will wait to hear about what we can do. My heart is so full for stray animals and I want to do something after almost three years of being uninvolved. You can definitely pm me if you have advice, or share it with our forum guys if you think it might get the word out.
