About 3 weeks till STJ, looking for that beach that nobody goes to, the beach that you have the best chance having to yourself for most of the day. Anybody out ther get lucky enough to have this happen to them? How about Brown Bay Beach seems like a good option. And for the locals [maybe they can answer] is there a trail to MENNEBECK BEACH, nobody ever mentions that beach, its marked on Sherbans google earth map of STJ.

I can't speak from experience, but I've heard there are some excellent beaches that are only accessible by boat. You might consider renting a dinghy for a day.

We hike Brown Bay every morning with our dogs, so if you come across 2 really barky puppies just say hi to them and don't worry they do not bite 
Usually the beach is empty (well it is always empty when we are there as it's before 9:30am) but a few times we see people just setting out as we are finishing.
Brown Bay (imo) is not a pretty beach - seaweed and more often than not, used clothing in the bushes - it is the beach where the illegals are dropped off so they leave their wet clothes scattered, although it is pretty clean (by BB standards) right now You would not want to carry alot of "stuff" either as the hike in is about 3/4 mile up and down a reasonably steep trail with alot of loose rock. The snorkeling there though is supposed to be very good - have never done it as we always have the dogs and once I've hiked it for the day I never want to do it again

Oh, what time of year will you be here - that has alot of impact on how empty the beaches will be.

Try Grootpan Bay during the week. Its more of a locals hangout.

How about Newfound Bay? On the sat. map it looks like there MIGHT be a trail off of one of the roads in that new East End developement. If not, I guess you'd have to get permission to hike up and over the hill from behind Vie's.

No I'm not trying to yell at anybody, most of time its on for work, yea I should be working, but it's only 3 weeks away, I can't help myself. Maybe this Mennebeck Beach goes by a different name, its on the North shore & straight East of Princess Bay, looks like a nice beach on the Google Earth

Mennebeck is the bay north of Haulover and just around a point from it . We've never been there and I don't know how to access it from land. We've worked our way pretty far north along Haulover but have never gone all the way around that point. We really like Haulover and it's possible that Mennebeck could be similar. Haulover, like most beaches along that part of the island is rock and coral. It's more exposed than the north or south shore and surf can be a bit rough some days. When I say that we like Haulover, the attraction for us there is the snorkeling. It's not a beautiful sandy beach and we wouldn't go there if we just wanted to spend a relaxing few hours lying on a beach.

There is a trail to Mennebeck, but it is extremely steep and not remotely easy. This has been a major drop-off for illegal aliens in recent years (even more so than Brown Bay). This is not an activity you want to get involved with, and I would not recommend going there as a tourist (this isn't just our wanting to keep at least a few places really "off the beaten track"--not entirely, anyway!).

We have been lucky enough to have Reef bay beach all to ourselves for the day.
