I am bummed about the early car return time required by Courtesy since our plane is not til 4:20. This really cuts into vacation time. Pretty much the whole last day. Do all the rental cos. have that same early return time?

It dosen't do as much as you think. Do a little shopping get a bite to eat take the 12 ferry gets you to the airport about 1 or a little after just about right some Saturdays 2 hours aren't enough remember island time you have to go to the counter and through customs

Grab a bite at JJ's, relax in the park, do some last minute shopping! Travel day is always a bummer, but make the best of it...you're in paradise! The last thing you want to do is rush!!!

Finish the packing, have a drink and relax on the deck and enjoy the view for the last time.
Give yourself time to make it to the car rental.
Turn the car in.
Take your luggage to Connections (we only do carry on) they will store it for a minimal charge.
Print out your boarding passes while at Connections.
Go have breakfast at JJ's.
Do last minute shopping.
Go to the beach bar and get your last drink.
Pick up your luggage at Connections.
Wait in line for tickets for the ferry.
Then start the walk of woe down the dock...back to reality.

Ask if you can keep the car an extra hour or so.
Cool Breeze let us keep the car a couple of hours - with no charge.
If not, sounds like everyone has pretty much mapped out your morning.
Have a great trip -

If my memory serves me right when we rented from Paris Rental last trip she told me it goes from time out so if ya start at 3 you don't have to return it till 3. Would call and ask for sure but I know we were not charged extra for a 4 oclock return. Don't have there # as we were winging it when we rented from them on island. We also squeeze a little more time from Denzels turned it in alittle before twelve last week ago no problem, just ask.

Conrad Sutton car return is 10:30. If you are not leaving on a Saturday then they are more flexible. Saturdays are brutal for them and they need all the time to turn the cars around.

Biggest question I had while doing the after-car-rental-return-poke-around-CruzBay-while-waitng-for-ferry thing was 11am too early to start with the 2 for $3 Presidente at Caps...

Thanks for all your replies. I think I will call Courtesy and ask them for another hour or so. I did call St. John car rental and their return time isn't until noon. I don't mind puttering around Cruz Bay, just don't wanna leave the villa sooner than we have to!

Just remember most villa check out time is 10am (so not much before your car rental time) as they are swamped trying to get those villas clean before the new guests arrive.

Courtesy has been great for me every time . They will let you leave your luggage with then. We left our luggage, the girls did a little last minute shopping while the guys sat at the Beach Bar and had a few last drinks and then we all ate lunch before heading over on the 1:00 pm to CA. The food is much better at JJ's, Beach bar or Woody's that at the airport or on the plane.

jmq we hit Caps everytime before the walk of woe little after 11 this time so I say no it's not to early it's five oclock somewhere. By the number of people in the bar at that time I say there are some others that would agree.
