Hi

Couple questions for all you nice folks!

Q 1.)Wondering if anyone has dealt with Discount Jeep rentals on St. Thomas.

Q 2.)Has anyone has stayed at SailviewStJohn?

We were lucky and will be staying on St. John in November 08 (Fun&Contentment) and February 09(??maybe Sailview)!

We are schedule to arrive in St. Thomas around 2 pm each time and we want to rent on St. Thomas.

Thanks in advance!

Discount has gotten good reviews on various forums and seems to be the cheapest source for 4 door Wranglers and they appear to stay open later than Dependable (10PM).

Pia has mentioned the folks at Sail View in the past.

I love Sailview - Mike and Eileen are fabulous and for the price it can't be beat :)
As long as you know it is not a villa, (I know you do of course but I thought I would add that) in as much as it has no pool or kitchen - but a great deck and grill area, private little area off each room, wonderful hosts, clean, clean, clean with a/c - wonderful :)

We have rented from Discount the last three years & will be using them again in July. They have always been very helpful & friendly.

We stayed at Sailview a year ago in April for nine days.

Like Pia said, it is very clean, the owners are extremely nice folks and it is a great value!

It is a 2-minute drive to Skinny Legs and about a 7-8 minute drive to Maho.

While there's no kitchen - there is a small fridge and a BBQ on the deck you can use.

We definitely plan to return some day.

Regarding Discount for renting a Jeep - what if you have trouble with the vehicle while on St John??
I've been told if you rent on St Thomas and have trouble on St John you're pretty well hosed - anyone have any personal experiences to share?

We had a flat tire last year at Gibney and call St John Car Rentals - and they said, "you're responsible for fixing flats" Not much help there - but at least we were able to swing by their place and pick up another spare.
