House Search - Small houses in Coral Bay

I am on the search for a smallish house which is unusual for me. Usually we need at least 3-4 bedrooms. Any help is appreciated.
Our wish list:
- 1-2 Bedrooms (2 is preferred, 3 is ok if its at a good price point)
- Coral Bay area (but NOT too far out, would prefer w/i 5 minutes of Skinny's or Island Blues)
- Pool
- A/C at least in bedrooms
- View
- Kid friendly (we'll have the kids - 6 and 18 months with us)

Hi there,
I just wrote a really long reply and then it vanished
- so the short version is......try this one but the noise from Island Blues (kareoke (sp) once or twice per week might be a problem if you are a light sleeper) but the two bedrooms do have inside access
RickG was just there so I'm sure he can help with more details

Flip-flop-
I don't know if it's available but look at "Pink Horses". I wanted to stay there on my last trip but it was booked. It's awesome for the price.

Good Luck

I don't think Pink Horses would be good as I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) the second bedroom would be accessable from the outside staircase and on a different level - not great to have small children in another part of the house.

Hi Flip Flop-
We're staying in Waterlemon Villa in November. Can't tell you much about it yet, but it looks great and the owner is great to deal with.

Good luck,

Bayhouse is kid friendly. Noise from Aqua Bistro and Island Blues should not be an issue. The bedrooms are on the same level and the doors are across from each other, about 6 feet apart. There is a gate to the pool and the porch railings are smaller than a kids head. It is a good place for a value price.
We rented Bay House from Caribbean Villas, but I saw it listed by other companies after we sent in our deposit.
Coden stayed there as well.
Cheers, RickG

Waterlemon is a great villa (although again the road is alittle "challenging"
) -Lisak428 you will be very happy there but no children under 10

Bay House is looking great. Thanks Guys. And Thanks Pia for the 411 on the kid-friendliness of other villas! It helps a lot.

Flip: I've had my eye on these 2 for kid friendly villas on the "quiet side" of the island:
Fun and Contentment (already mentioned)
Moonswept

Both have bedrooms on either side of the great room, so you don't have to go outside to get to the kiddos.
Before our trip I had spoken with an agent about Pink Horses, who said what Pia said: not so great for kids because the bedrooms are across the pool from each other.

Oops, I forgot about the no kids under 10 for Waterlemon. Thanks, Pia. Also, I don't know exactly where it is. Does it look down over Island Blues? What else can you tell me about it (not to hijack this thread!), we're so excited about it!!
Thanks,
Lisa

I love Moonswept - I have been past the villa only once and did not know it's name, so thank you for a heads up.
The only downside to it, is the road. Even by STJ standards it is rough - not really steep but a steady climb - but it is bumpy, bumpy, bumpy
I have taken people to one of the villas (Ventosa) below Moonswept and it takes a good 5-8 mins from the bottom at the "main" road to it), so probably another 3-5 mins up to Moonswept giving you 15 mins to Skinny's but less to one of my fav's Shipwreck
I must say though the views are fabulous and in my top 3 "best views" of St John
Hope this helps

majorly bummed --- looks like bay house is booked for the time I am looking. Moonswept looks amazing, but I think that ride might be a bit much for the little ones.
