For anyone who has stayed at this villa - can you let me know if other houses are close by? Also, does the pool get full sun all day?

Would love to see pictures if available.

Thanks.

I believe the pool/deck area is in view of the villa next door but the villa itself is wonderful.

We are staying at Sea Stone in May/June.
I believe the villa is located between "Nautilus" and "Beyond the Sea (no longer on market)". They are pretty much right next door to Sea Stone. VIVA told us that you don't really see "Nautilus" (on the right, facing the sea) due to foliage, but "Beyond the Sea" (left) has a clear view of the pool area of Sea Stone but not the porch or inside the villa. If you seek total privacy around a pool, this does not work for you. However, as Pia said, it seems to be a wonderful house, and we are going for it.

We stayed in Sea Stone last April and it's an amazinly beautiful an quiet villa. Due to the foliage, the villa to your right is not too visable and it is privately owned. We only say one person there over one weekend. The villa to your left can view your deck/pool area but very seldom did we see anyone. This is a fabulous villa with awesome views.
The backyard receives a great deal of sun. We would sit out on the deck/pool area in the morning and again around 4:00 pm when we got back from the beach. The pool is nice, not heated but very refreshing. You will certainly fall in love with Sea Stone! Enjoy!

jdw, because of the way you phrased your topic, I'd have you ask VIVA for a sketch of the three properties. I was astonished of how close the east covered porch of Nautilus is to Sea Stone. The back corner of the porch (closest to road) is less than 20 feet from the frontedge of SS pool. The entirety of Nautilus then is in front of SS's view, totally blocking all westerly and most southwesterly views. Walking along that porch which runs from the front to the back of Nautilus and has nice seating areas, one looks directly into not only the pool/deck area, but the villa itself. Vegetation was pretty sparse in March.
If you seek privacy, betting Nautilus will be empty seems a pretty big risk.

We rented Sea Stone last year and loved it. The villa to the right is well hidden by vegitation. You can see someoen if you look hard but you really have to be looking for someone, so I don't believe that side is an issue.

The villa on the left has wide open views of Sea Stone's pool area. I believe the villa is owned by a single woman and her dog. We saw them on the porch but they didn't bother us in the least and they were respectful of our privacy.

There are lots of nice over hang areas on the porch to relax in the shade and read a book and to be completely out of sight. One great area is right off the left side master. I'd lay there daily reading, sleeping and relaxing and had total privacy.

The sound of the waves directly below hitting the rocks is wonderful and relaxing.

The home has two equal masters on opposite ends and in fact is separated in that one is in a totally different building, connected by a covered porch. The house is fully air conditioned.

It was very nice. Not up scale, but very nice. Wonderful views, quiet area.

If you have a problem with iguanas you don't want to rent Sea Stone. Lots and I mean lots of nice size iguanas sun daily on the patio. They didn't bother us and every once in a while we would shoo them away if they got too close for comfort, but they were no bother. It was us who was intruding on their property and we treated them as such.

If you can live with the wide open view from the villa on the left Sea Stone is wonderful and I can't imagine you wouldn't enjoy it.

Another Villa that we've been wanting to try is Latitude. You may want to look it up. It has a better pool and great views of Ditliff. I believe it would offer you more privacy. We used to rent another villa near Latitude on a regular basis and that villa is now off the market but we love the Ditliff/Klien Bay area.

Sea Stone is a little less expensive or at least it was last year and I thought it was a bargain by St. John standards.

Good luck and have fun.

Your info regarding Sea Stone came in at just the right time for us. We are leaving for St. John this Saturday for 2 weeks. We are staying at a villa in Upper Carolina for the first week and then are moving into Sea Stone for the second. We knew about the infamous iguanas at Sea Stone. My husband and I are both admirers of reptiles (yes, even snakes), so no problem as long as they are not aggressive. Thank you very much for your insight.
