Anyone have a favorite pick for the Kentucky Derby today? I'm going to place a few bets later and am curious if anyone other than us Kentuckians is interested.

Big Brown is the obvious at 3-1. What's the track going to be like...any mud? If so, I'm gonna stick my neck out and go with Pyro.

The track is dry and fast now and we're not expecting any more rain. It will be interesting to see how Big Brown fares. There's never been a Derby winner in his post position. Good luck!

I don't follow horse racing enough to have a pick other than the favorite, but I would like to see a Triple Crown winner. 30 years is long enough.

They played the derby on the screens at the main stage at Jazz Fest today before Jimmy Buffett played. Crazy. Never seen it before cuz I am always at the fest.

Wow, now that was really sad. I've never watched the Derby before and wasn't expecting that.

So sad about the filly. I usually watch the Derby, but I'm glad I missed this one.

Years ago the whole family watched a match race, Foolish Pleasure against Ruffian. The filly, Ruffian, was injured and had to be put down. None of us could watch horse races for a long time after that.
