Even though this is a long overdue TR hopefully you enjoy anyway. Im trying to pass the time (20 more days) til our next trip!
The crew from left: Jaime, Maggie, Brandie, Jayci(me), Jasmyne (aka Dark&Diet)

Also included was my brother collin (IslandChef) who was living on island and working for Stone Terrace at the time. (That's right - we still get to have Terrace dinners!)
Day1
Flew out of MSY (New Orleans) connected in MIA and met Brandie in STT (she flew from Houston through Charlotte) All flight were on time and we landed within 15 minutes of each other. Free rum punch in hand we headed off by taxi to Red Hook. Very hot wait as the ferry terminal construction was not complete at the time. We were amused by the fact that we had to buy our ferry ticket from one lady then turn it right back in to the guy standing to her immediate right... Odd... why did she bother handing it to us at all?? Welcome to the islands!
We stayed at Crow's nest which is located in Wharfside Village. (Its what's behind those big white windows). It was gorgeous and very convienient for newbies like us - just a short walk downstairs brought us to restaurants, bars, shops and the taxis. Downside - no pool, but so worth it - not sure they are renting it anymore. Here's an aside. We had probalems with water presuure - and by this I mean we really had NO running water to speak of for the whole week but they gave us back 1/2 our money and we all said we would do this again! Surprising as we're not much for roughing it, but there was a bathroom in the bar around the corner from the entrance to the apartment and we pretty much showered and brushed our teeth in bottled water! Me and Brandie snuck a rinse off shower at the Gallows pool! Its really funny to us now!

Back to arrival day... We were exhausted from the long travel day and thought we'd probably take it easy, but we decided to eat at Fish Trap since Collin was working there that night. Fave dish was Tom Yum Goon - basically coconut milk soup. Yummy. The waiter brought us like 3 pitchers of very strong rum punchso we had enough of a second wind to head to Woody's "just for a minute" This is what happened

Doesn't Collin look thrilled to be included in this "girls' trip"?

More to come soon... Jost, more Woody's, North shore beaches, more eating, more rum punch...
