there have been 8 earthquakes over 3.5 recorded here since 10 pm last night - has anyone else felt one? - the 4.0 at 10:22 pm was noticed at my house in STT.

hahaha cali-girl...when i read 8 vs 667 i was laughing out loud...we just had a 3.2 up here in santa barbara and felt it pretty strong.

According to the site below all of these quakes were centered either north or north and east of Puerto Rico.

Although there does appear to have been a 3.5 off the east end of St. Thomas.

Bayer - yes that is the exact site I use - it puts the 10:22 / 4.0 at 57 mi. from Charlotte Amalie - and it was a shaking and rumbling event for me - I was just wondering if any other VI forum members have been feeling that one or the others. They are not uncommon here and only reported on my feed at 3.0 or over - certainly nothing like the Calif. #'s posted. Thank You very much.

I haven't felt any of these. I've been home sick from work for a few days, though, and I tend to feel earthquakes less at home (ground floor) than I do at work on the second or third level.

Ca Girl I think I would have a heart attack if I knew that much shakin was going on around me. We had one in NYC when I was younger and still at home and I was afraid to go to sleep for days. Keep safe

Many moons ago, say 20-25 years ago, don't recall exactly, I took my wife along on a great business trip... we went from Ohio to San Diego, convention at the Hotel Del Coronado, a historic wooden structure hotel. Grandma had the kids, my wife's first night away from the little tikes, which was good and bad, if you know what I mean. Had a top floor room in the wooden part (as opposed to the newer structure which has some motion stuff somehow built in). Well, we had a 5.8 centered under the bay somewhere, which is nearby. Not huge by California standards, but it got our attention! So this was my FIRST and BIGGEST to experience motion... No damage to the hotel or anything, but it scared us plenty, don't want to experience that again.

Haven't felt any shaking, other than the neighbors slamming their door every time they go out.

Having experienced a 3.8 with rumbling and waves of vibrating, I know a 4.0 would certainly get my attention.

SE MO and NE ARK have the New Madrid fault from which we keep getting predictions of a 6.5 or greater at any time.

The worst New Madrid earthquake was in the early 1800s. It caused the Mississippi to run backwards, lakes formed, liquifaction and sand geysers. They estimated it at about a 9.0.

I don't think we are ready for a big one!

There are reports of a 5.3 hitting Salem in SE Illinois this morning about 4:30. I have not heard any reports of serious damage or injuries yet, but it was felt in St Louis and Chicago.

This is a part of the New Madrid Fault.
