I just want to thank everyone here for there helpful advice. I have lurked here for over one year.
We have just returned from our first trip to St John.
It was wonderful and successful thanks to the wealth of information on this site.
I hope to post a trip report.
The best advice overall was hiring a porter at the airport. Having no experience with this airport I am not sure if it is always bad on Saturdays or just last Saturday.

Hi Lisa that was about the norm we left at 1 and used a porter too
