Does anyone know the reason why villa rental companies, will NOT allow weddings to take place at the villa, but do allow receptions :?:

I know that when I was a rental manager we did not allow weddings or receptions.
There are so many reasons why: liability, water usage, chances for things breaking, wear and tear, etc.
Most homes are not built to withstand heavy use. Septic systems, water pump, etc.

In fact, I don't think that the wedding is the issue but mainly the reception, in my opinion.

That's what I would have thought. My step daughter is getting married in the Islands in May, and she has been told she can't have the wedding at the villa, but can have the reception.

We are staying at Villa Claudia in April. On their website are testamonials and one of them is about a women's daughter getting married there and what a wonderful time they had. The website is www.villaclaudia.com. We rented directly from the owner and saved about $1300.00 compared to what the rental companies wanted.

Hope you have a great wedding!

The first time I went to St. John was for a wedding. It was that of my significant other's daughter.

We stayed at Hakuna Matada in Catherineburg. The wedding was at the villa and so was the reception. The view was beautiful for the wedding and the reception was a blast. I don't know if they still do weddings there but it was perfect.

Not to mention that it got us hooked on the island
