Anyone stayed recently at Island Time? Planning for next January- We stayed at Angelica in February and loved the proximity to town but decided we wanted a villa with a view this time and wondering about the Dever's bay area- is it possible to get to the beach/water for snorkeling from this villa? Any comments greatly appreciated- :D

I stayed at Dream Come True last year which is a water front villa along Dever's Bay. We had our own private path to the water below, but I do not think Island Time has an access to the water. I believe Dever's Bay is only accessible if you have one of the water front villas. The snorkeling in Dever's Bay was very good. It was nice being able to wake up in the morning and get a quick snorkel in. My wife and I even rented some dive gear and did a shore dive.

Dever's Bay is a great location, but to get to the beach from Island Time you would have to walk through one of the beach front villas (Sunset Beach, Vida de Mar, Dream Come True) to get to it. Not unheard of, but probably not too popular with the people staying in those villas.

I was seriously considering Island Time for a summer girl trip and spoke to a Carib. Villa agent who had just returned and stayed there a few nights. She liked it very much but there was something she said that made me not want to stay there that time of year. It might have been the fear of being over run with "skeeters" being so close to the water, or maybe it was the heat. I can't remember know. :? It is also a very small villa. The 1600 sq. ft. they mention also includes the outdoor areas. If it's just you and your wife, it's probably plenty large enough. But if you are wanting to walk to the beach, you may want to look elsewhere. You are going to have much better views higher up. I know Angelica has no views, so a nice view would be more important to me than being on the water.

Thanks everyone! So the only access at Devers Bay to the beach is through private property?

Yes. When I stayed at Dream Come True I walked up and down Dever's Bay's rocky beach and all the pathways came directly from a Villa.

I would double check with the villa agency about beach access. There appeared to be a rough path the last time we were there. It's been a couple of years. I agree that Devers Bay is a great spot and we've enjoyed staying there very much. The snorkel around the point towards Chocolate Hole is excellent snorkel and the night snorkeling is great too.

Cheers, RickG

We loved it. Being able to snorkel anytime you feel like it is a real plus. We had some water issues the first two days. The pump kept shutting off, so we would go hours with no water. Caribbean Villas eventually fixed the problem, it had them puzzled for a while. They refunded us $1,000 and gave us a fruit and cheese basket to say they were sorry, so we were happy. The biggest negative is the drive way is very steep, so we parked our jeep on the top and walked down. This was fine if we weren’t carrying anything, but usually we had groceries, alcohol, or beach stuff, so it made it a little tuff. It has two identical bedrooms side by side on the main level of the house and a larger bedroom on the lower level. To access the living room and kitchen you must walk outside. The pathway down to the rocky beach is concrete steps. There is only one more villa past Dream Come True, so you have zero traffic noise. I have some pictures and a short video of the view you will have if you want me to send them to you just pm me your e-mail address.
