I don't know people that rude! 
But unfortunately it does seem typical of a lot of "California people." Usually those are the "transplants"... us CA Natives don't act that way, we use the bathrooms on the plane for that kind of activity!

What's the big fuss!!! It's a long flight from Los Angeles and it's not like you can spend a lot of time eating and drinking since they don't feed you on Southwest.
You gotta do something to take up the time...sheesh.
