St. John Car Rental

STJ Car Rental sent us forms to fill out to reserve a car for May. We faxed them over the weekend. Does anyone know when we should expect to hear from them again? I e-mailed them to confirm that they got our forms, but I haven't heard back yet. I hesitate to send the deposit till I know that they have our info, and that we have a car reserved for our dates. Just wondering if anyone knows the process for working with this company. They told me they won't reserve by phone; they only do it by e-mail and fax.

I included my credit card info on the form when I faxed it into them. I followed up with a phone call a few weeks later to make sure they got the form. They never actually charged my card for the deposit, but I also recall reading on the forum that other people have been charged the deposit. Who knows what determines when they take a deposit or not. Just call them.

I always booked with them through Carefree
Getaways. First time no deposit, second time they took deposit. But it was a few months after we filled out the paperwork that they charged the deposit. Who knows!

We got a return fax like 2 days later confirming our rental!

Thanks for the replies. I forgot; one of the forms was a credit card authorization form, so I guess they will just take the deposit at some point. I think I'll sit tight for a couple days, and if I don't hear from them, I'll call to check in, make sure they got the forms, and ask about the deposit.

i emailed last week to confirm for next week...didnt hear back so I called and received a very pleasant verbal confirmation. Based on a previous experience as well, I would say they dont always email back...definately call.

The girls at the office don't email, someone that works for the owners, or Lonnie herself will repond but I think they don't always check it.
My friends were told that his email was not returned because the "lady who check it off island, no confirmation number, we see you when you get here"
It is nice to know that technology hasn't caught up with everyone.

We just checked our credit card statement on line to make sure they had deposit!
