I haven't heard much lately about Candi's BBQ. Is she still there?

Also, we heard about a new restaurant on Centerline, kind of close to Cruz Bay. It's supposed to have simple, "local" food. Has anyone been there? Is it any good?

Pete---Candi was there every day a week ago. Never drove up that part of Centerline to check out Windy Level.

We ate at Candi'w last week and it was very good. We ordered ahead and she had it all ready to go for us. she is there everyday until 9pm.

Good to hear that Candi's is still alive and kicking. I suspect that her overhead is a bit less than Stone Terrace's.

Windy Level...that's it! Thanks Iowa guy. We're definitely going to check it out when we are there.

We did take out for 8 at Candi's in Feb. It was great.

Speaking of local food, does anyone know of a place on STJ that makes curried goat, preferrably accompanied by pigeon peas and rice?

I think that Sogo's would be a good bet for that. I know they have goat, but not sure about the curry part...or the sides.

Sogo's does indeed have curried goat every day. The Inn at Tamarind Court also has it on Miss Etta's West Indian nights. Both restaurants had the dish for less than $15 as I remember. Neither had pigeon peas and rice as a side. Both had fungi though.

Pete...as we drove past Windy Level just over one week ago...we saw no action. Perhaps someone has been within the last week or so???

We stopped by Windy Level when we were in STJ a few weeks back. I really wanted to try it as I love local food experiences & also always love to support someone's new business as I know from 1st hand experience how hard it is the first couple years of a new business.

The owner--something like Caryn?--seemed so sweet & nice. I would have liked to have stopped there for lunch but hubbie was in a rush to get somewhere (I can't even remember where now) so we said we'd come back for dinner.

Unfortunately, by the time dinner came around, we were too tired and just made ourselves some odds & ends while watching a really pretty sunset from our villa. (Funny how you can get so tired just swimming & snorkeling & laying around beaches all day--the relaxation 'bug' really kicks in overtime with us, especially as we get closer to the day we have to leave.

I have another restaurant related question though. Has anyone been to the new restaurant in Wharfside? (can't remember it's name). If so, please let me know how it was or point me to a review you may have already posted please.
