So many of us are animal & nature lovers that I thought I'd share these Bald Eagle Web Cams with you. They are 3 separate cams in different parts of the country. All eagles are in the wild, but monitored by the DGIF. I am fortunate to have one very close by in Norfolk, Virginia.

Maine Cam: The eagles have been mating and it's about time to start laying eggs. Not a lot of activity here right now...but there will be soon.

Maryland Cam: Two eaglets have already hatched but I'm not sure when. It's interesting but not live stream.

Virginia Cam: These eagles have a special story and it's an interesting website to read through if you ever have any spare time. The eagles currently have one egg being incubated. Mom laid it last Saturday. This cam is live 24/7 and has an interesting chat room. What is special about this nest?

The couple has been together for 7 years. Two eggs on the nest were abandoned a month ago when a young female hussy fought mama, ran her out of the nest and had an affair with the male. Mama came back a week later and took back up with the male (like some human females I know). But the eggs had been removed by DGIF because they were no good. She laid 2 more eggs a couple of weeks ago, but they were damaged during the night by mama when an owl spooked the nest and she accidentally jumped on and cracked them. Well there was still one left in her that she laid last Saturday! Should be hatching around 4/28. They are a determined couple! If you check this site out be sure to look back in the archives from last year. They had 3 eaglets and the pics are cute. There is also some good video and a great diary.

Hope some of you find this interesting, and thanks for allowing me space on this board! I am treating myself to an afternoon off tomorrow and will head over to the Gardens to view the eagles there. Wish I had some of you great photographers with me!!!

Every spring, we have the rare opportunity to have a few eagles stop by our house on their way back up north. Last week was the week they were here. You can always tell because the other birds GO CRAZY! They absolutely freak out. There are two trees in our back yard, right at the edge of the lake, that the eagles always use as their landing spot.

It is quite a wonder to see them fly over the lake, take over the space here in our backyard and perch themselves ever so stately on a tree branch before moving to their final destination (which is probably another 200-300 miles north of here) for their nesting.

Soon, the loons will come. The lake needs to open up a bit and then, they will be here for their brief visit before going farther north.

Nature. You've got to love it.

Thank you for posting this. I have seen bald eagles out at our large Massachusetts reservoir (Quabbin), and have seen them (though rarely) on the river I live on (the Sudbury). It's always exciting....

Right now, we've got a beaver going crazy building a dam. I cannot believe how many trees he has chopped down. It's charming at first, but I can see how he could do real damage. I have to keep reminding myself that this is his river.

And yesterday, two mallards flew in and landed on my pool cover and swam around the bit of water that's there. The dog went crazy.

Hi all you nature lovers, I love watching wildlife cams, thanks for the ones you mentioned here.

We have the utmost pleasure of enjoying bald eagles here in my area of SW FL. A Great Horned Owl family lives in the tall pines of my neighborhood and some early eves I've been outdoors who-who-ing back to them. I love it! I'm sure a couple of my neighbors think I'm a bit whacky...

We also have Bobcats that pass thru the yard and if I find the patience to post some photos I will. On my way to work one morn'n before the sunrise I was approaching the red light at an intersection and a very healthy looking Panther ran across the road right in front of me...it was awesome to say the least!

I don't know about other admirers of nature, but I feel priviledged and blessed when I do catch glimpses like this

Thanks for sharing the webcam sites.

Marcia-I love the call of the loons. I look forward to that on my trips to New Hampshire/Maine.

So I am sooo challenged when it comes to this stuff

I know it looks too small but when I clicked on the image it went to a larger version and you can see him/her hiding next to the mower. The 2nd shot is the backside on his way "out". He was checking out the bird (squirrel) feeders!

Let me know if this works for you guys please.

Kathyzhere: The pics worked. What a pretty face the bobcat has!

I know what you guys mean about wildlife around the house, we get it here as well. We're right off the Chesapeake Bay and we've seen baby osprey, egrets, herons, ducks, deer; and the sweetest baby bunny rabbits!

Marcia: We get something that looks like a loon in our creek every winter. About the first of spring he's gone and the ducks come back. I'll have to look more carefully next winter.

How cool some of you have eagle nests around. It snowed on the eagles nest in Maine yesterday, thankfully no eggs yet!

Rochester Falconcam installed in 1998 on the steeple of the tower at Kodak Corporate Offices.
Mariah laid her first egg of 2008 on Wednesday evening at about 9:55 PM.
