Oh my God!!! To me Island Blues IS St. John!!!! It is so laid back and slow there. I absolutely love it there. That is my favorite St. John restaurant for lunch!!!!
I hope that it doesn't EVER close!!!

Although we are relative newcomers to STJ, we have been four times over the last two years. I'm kind of amazed how many restaurants have closed during that time. Ten Table's, Chilly Billy's, Tage, Sosa's, Subway, Mosquito Bites and probably some that I can't think of. We have only been to Island Blue's once but planned to return. The setting is beautiful. I had the mahi sandwich with lemon dill sauce and it was excellent. Hopefully someone will buy it and keep things going.

I was told by our villa owner that today is their last day. Very bummed...

GET THE ##%*# OUTTA HERE! I've heard it was for sale for the last couple of years. Isn't everything? Anyway, I hadn't heard it was imminently closing. Say it ain't so! When we went down with another couple a few years back, Jimmy looked at me the first night at Blues and said,"JT, You look like if I nailed your feet right there where you're standing, you'd be a happy man!" Summed it up perfectly!

Elizabeth, I knew you were going to be bummed

. I remember you raving about that place in your TR. It's really what prompted us to try it.

Bummed doesn't even cover it! We are heading down in May and I was so looking forward to heading over there. Island Blues was one of the reasons we decided to stay in Coral Bay this year. Last year we wanted to head back in the evening but never got there because of the drive. Our lunches lasted 3 hours just sitting on the water.
Sad, Sad, Sad
Things change, but I don't like it!

Jorge wrote:" JT, I hate, hate, hate this news. When I heard this I thought of you and how bad it would effect you. I know how much you love this side of the island. It must kill you to see the changes and the popularity that it has developed. STJ has changed so much that it makes me quizzy when I read about it in travel magizines. Sorry bro, Jorge"
I remember many years ago Howard Cosell came on Monday Night Football and told me John Lennon had been shot, and killed. This is pretty close.
Peace & Harmony, Joe
p.s. It reminds me of "Fiddler on The Roof!" Now if I were a rich man.....
