This should be interesting! A couple of suggestions, not necessarily for every day play, but ...
before you go definitely play Jimmy Buffett's "Holiday"
and when you're getting ready to leave St John play Jerry Jeff's Walker's "Cowboy Boots and Bathing Suits" (but get out the kleenex!). Just thinking about the first couple of lines gives me chills:
"We've been here a week or so, now it's finally time to go.
Can't believe how quickly time has flown ..."
More to follow

Thats always a good one, Mary Beth. I also like Tin Cup Chalice by Jimmy Buffett.
Shift Work, Kenny Chesney's latest duet with George Strait is a great tune with a steel drum sound. It tells of how he makes a break for the islands at the end.
Sailing (I think that is the name of it) by Christopher Cross is another good one. There are so many that make me think of the islands.
I'll bet Ruth comes up with a bunch.

Kenny Chesney's CD "Be as You Are - Songs from an Old Blue Chair". I play it at least daily to get me on island time! Never fails!

How 'bout "Come Away With Me" by Nora Jones?
I used it as part of the soundtrack for my powerpoint program for last year's trip. Some day I'll find a way to get it onto this forum.

Anything by Jack Johnson, JT (the famous folk singer not our famous forumite), Dave Matthews, John Legend, Jimmy Buffet.
I have a playlist called Mellow Nighttunes which seems to be what I play most on St. John.
Some that I am currently obsessed with:
Donavon Frankenreiter - It Don't Matter
Colbie Caillat - Magic
Sublime - Caress Me Down
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's Version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow
James Morrison - You give me something
Corinne Bailey Rae - Since I've been loving you
I could go on and on....

Great thread. I'm always looking for new songs to add to the island playlist.
Some of my favorites:
James Taylor - Copperline
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over the Rainbow (ukele version... It was our wedding song!)
Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes and Better Together (his whole album 'In Between Dreams' is great for mornings on the island)
Colin Hay - Beautiful World
Van Morrison - Sweet Thing
