Next February is one of those "big birthdays" and I've promised hubby this time, he can come along. He's partially diabled from a stroke and has balance problems, unsteady, walking a long ways is difficult, all that stuff. I'm just looking for a place that is easily accessible, maybe not a lot of steps. I know that there are a lot of beaches he just won't get to visit but he wants to see what makes this island spot so special to me. I'd appreciate any suggestions! Thanks.

How about Haiku? Everything is on one level. Is it just the two of you? I could tag along and carry hubby's suitcase

How about Caneel Trailside Cottage? Looks beautiful and also looks like it's all on one level. Availability for Feb is extremely limited, but still some days open.

Calypso by the Sea. Some steps to the "yard", but fewer to the driveway and you can follow the path around to the yard from there. All else on one level and beachfront (though not sandy, small rocks) so that if he can't visit many beaches, he'll get maximum water exposure right from the house. The yard is awesome, spent many an hour in the dappled sunlight reading books, watching the Coral Harbor world go by.

I think On-StJohn did a thing on this house, so look there too if you're interested.

Hi - don't know what your budget is but I was looking at Calicaribe and was advised by Dest. STJ that this villa was built to be handicap accessible. Not sure what all that entails but a chat with DSJ might be worth it!
Good luck! Sounds like a great trip for the 2 of you!

Maison Miele, through vivacations, was also designed as a handicapped-accessible villa. It is really a beautiful house.

Miles Away is very easy to get to and has parking right next to front door. No hills, inclines or steps to get in and out of the villa. Everything is located on one level.

I am not sure about availability as it is a very popular rental. It rents through Destination St. John.

Morningside Villa in Klein Bay might fit the bill. Paved driveway (not too steep) tops off flat, close to door. No steps - two bedrooms and baths on the main level (also two additional bedrooms/baths on lower level). Main living areas are open to the deck and there is a spa built into the pool. Beautiful views over Klein and Ditliff. The kitchen is large and easy to maneuver and has a pass-through window to a little bar on the pool deck.

Catered To manages the villa:

And, here's the owner's website where there's a movie (that movie can also be found at On St-John):

We show about 20 that would work. A lot of the above mentioned.. Caneel Trailside, Calypso by the Sea, Maison Miele, Morningside Villa... plus Haiku (no stairs), Cali Caribe (no stairs, accessible bathroom), Peace of Heaven, French Cap.... etc. Hope this helps.
