Hi,

We have walked over to Honeymoon from the Caneel parking lot several times but never seem to make it over to Solomon.

Can Solomon also be accessed from the top of hill.....I'm not sure what the buildings are there but there is a parking lot?

How about Gibney? Is there a certain place to park?

We found Denis beach the last time we were there.....kind of rocky but it was a cool hike down to it.

Thanks for your help

Yes,
Solomon can be reached from two trails the Lind point that starts out from the base of the hill across from the VI parks building, this is the easier of the two or from the top of the first hill outside of Cruz Bay, (Caneel trail?) about half way down the trail it splits and you can go to Solomon or Honeymoon Bay, this is a little more challenging especially on the return UP the hill. Get a park map and it will show all the trails or just ask at the visitor center.
To get to Gibney look for the wooden stairs between Hawksnest and Trunk Bays, they take you to Gibney but you have to hope that one of the four parking spots are open on the right hand side about 100 ft prior to the stairs heading from CB. Good Luck

This is the gate to Gibney.
Just FYI the wooden stairs take you to Jumbie beach. I think you come to Jumbie before Gibney.

Have done all three ways to Salomon top of the hill is the quikest. Three or four spots as soon as ya turn in the drive. Down easy back not hard just take your time if ya get tired. If Gibney has no parking available it's a supper easy swim from Hawksnest around the corner on the right.

Thanks for the tips everyone!

So you can park in the Visitor Center lot for either Salomon or Honeymoon. The first time that we parked in the Caneel lot and walked over to Honeymoon I didn't bring any water to wash off my feet and the walked back killed my feet (sand in my flip flops) I'm going to try the baby powder next time that other St. John poster suggested.

Is the parking for Gibney right by the gate and is it just like Jumbie......a little spot right off the road?

Thanks again for the tips and advice everyone!

Heading back to St. John in November (11-19th) staying at Fun and Contentment!

Sorry for the mistakes everyone, yes, wooden stairs are for Jumbie. P&I, if you look at the picture post above, you can usually fit one or two jeeps on either side of the gate but don't block it (there's a sign warning about it!). Parking has become a problem in town and there are only a few spots at the park service building. I use to park at the lot beside Mongoose junction's side lot but that now says no parking (maintenance yard). If you take the trail down from the top (my favorite) there are two areas for about 4 jeeps that are usually open, turn left at the top of the hill at the "Virgin Islands National Park" sign.
Good Luck
