First timer villa question - Villa Bijou

Hi everyone. I've been lurking around here for several months now, soaking up all the info I can about St. John. My family of four will be traveling to St. John in June. This will be our first trip to the island and we can't wait. We have rented Villa Bijou. It looks great from the pictures, and Lisa from Vacation Vistas has assured me it is a great villa, but I'm dying to hear from someone who has actually stayed there. Anyone out there??
I can't thank everyone enough for all of the great info you put on this forum everyday. I haven't had to post a question up until now because I've found everything I needed just by searching the forum. But now that I've come out from under my rock, you'll probably be hearing more from me as the trip gets closer.

Welcome, its more fun here than under the rock! I have not stayed at Bijou, but I have looked at it many times online, and love the looks of it, and the price is right! You will love it Im sure. When in June?

Welcome. We have a group going to St. John in mid-March, and our close friends who we are traveling with are staying in Villa Bijou, while we are staying just above it at a neighboring villa. I will be sure to post a trip report when I get back with pictures of both villas. It looks great.

Ksea -- We are going June 18th-25th. I have been completely consumed with planning this trip, as I am with all of our vacations. In fact, I just received my National Park Trail Map and St. John Off the Beaten Path in the mail this weekend. I've already read Feet, Fins and 4WD cover to cover! I check the forum probably 2-3 times a day looking for info to add to my little travel journal. My family thinks I'm nuts, but they also know that when we get there, there will be no "so what do we do today?"s. Mom's got it covered!!
iowaguy -- Thanks. I'll be looking forward to your report! Have a great trip!

You'll have a great time. I'm the consumate planner as well. I write everything down(phone numbers, directions, name of jeweler on STT, etc) and take it in a folder in my carry-on. This trip, surprisingly enough, I failed to write down the time and flight number of our returning flight, so when we went to drop our car off at the parking valet, I didn't have this important info. Thankfully, the other family we traveled with had it. It really unnerved me as I usually have everything I need.
Have a great trip!

Decosuz, you should come to the Beach Bar forum get together on Sunday the 22nd. Do you have a fourm t-shirt? It's not a requirement, but you will be easier to identify that way! We will be there 6/20 - 6/27. I too have done lots of planning and it is always well worth the time spent.

decosuz - WELCOME to the forum, glad you came out!
We haven't stayed at Villa Bijou, but we did drive by this past December to look at it. The location is great, the driveway not to steep, and it looks pretty private. We used Vacation Vistas for the first time this last trip (stayed at Splendore) and couldn't have been happier. Lisa is all she seems and more! We were very happy with her and the villa, I think you'll love Bijou.
Happy Planning!
P.S. Try not to miss the forum gathering at the Beach Bar! It's soooo much fun to meet folks, and the music is wonderful. It's a fun, fun evening!

Small world. I'm new to the forum also and from PA. I have reserved Reef Madness from 6/22 to 6/28.
This will be my first trip to St John. I was in St Thomas for work a few years ago. I just received two St John books and have been trying to plan the big trip.
We usually go the beach in Florida during the summer. This trip should be great. I'll be asking questions too. So far the search function has answered most of them.
June seems so far away!

gavinman -- Planning my summer vacation is the only thing that gets me through these long PA winters!
ksea -- I've got the date for the forum gathering at the Beach Bar penned(not penciled!) into my calendar! Sounds like fun!
Jan&MikeVa -- Thanks for that bit of info! Every little bit helps!

How long does that party last?
We don't arrive at STT until 2:30ish. We might not make the 5:00 party but could probably be there sometime after 6:00.
That's if flight and car barge goes as planned.
We have more winter coming this week!

Decosuz, Great, will see you there!
Gavinman, Im sure there will be folks there after 6. A lot of people like to stay at the beach all day and come to the bar a little later than 530. Look for the blue forum t shirts.
Am I right that "we" usually gather on the beach? Last time I had to leave before the rest of the crowd arrived, but I did get to meet Pia!

Welcome! Always glad to hear that there's another obsessive planner out there!
