not sure if you all remember me, but my husband and i went sailing in the bvi in early december. my husband took a fall while getting out of the dinghy's at foxy's (he broke his tibia and tore his mcl!) one night and that was the end of our vacation. the health clinic on jost was really great to us, but they are severely lacking supplies (i.e. they only had one pair of crutches - which took forever to find, and they were so rusted we couldn't adjust the height!). so i've been on a mission and have collected over 12 pairs of crutches and other supplies to send to this clinic. i have submitted paperwork to fedex for them to help with the shipping and it's taking forever (because it's international). anyone have any other great ways of shipping/getting things to jost? obviously my first choice is to hand deliver them, but that's not going to happen soon enough :-) thanks!

Why don't you try posting this on the Travel-Talk-online board, the BVI section. Alot of local people answer posts on that board. They may be of some help.
What a nice thing you are doing.

Gimpie,
Send me an pm I live on St Thomas. It may be possible to send them to me via mail or UPS if we can work out a way to have some one take them over on the Ferry. It may also be possible to talk Ruth (St John Spice) into receiving them via the mail and having Josh (Lion In Da Sun) or John Brandi (Palm Tree Charters)drop them off on Jost they are both there almost daily via boat.

Yo neighbor. This may be a start to a great Rotary project. A club in our district could team with one of the clubs on Tortolla or St John or St Thomas and do a lot more than cruthes. Give me a call 540-349-9100 or "PM".....God bless...Bill
