We are planning a honeymoon in St John for the last week of May 2008. We would be arriving the 25th and the length of stay will be determined by our budget. We do have some flexibility as far as the dates go and will be staying a minimum of 5 days.

I've noticed in my searching that ther are many properties so I thought you might help narrow it down. One of the things we want is a private hot tub/jacuzzi. We would prefer the Eastern side of the island for more privacy and quiet, but again we are flexible. We would also like to have really nice views. Beachfront or beach access is not a major concern, but privacy is. The properties that we have been looking at seem to be in the +/- $220 per night range. One we have looked at and liked is Viewtiful, but I'm a little concerned about the wind and shady pool I've been reading about.

Can you help us out with some suggestions?

We stayed at Periwinkle for a 2 week trip that we call our STJ honeymoon. It was the first time I took Sweet Christine down with us. It was inexpensive, had a private hot tub and was quite a warm spot. It is on the west side above Cruz Bay.

Something to consider is that the West End is quite remote. I like that, but you may want to be able to get out a bit more. VRBO seems to have the biggest selection of spots.

Check out the Sloop Jones web site. He is an East End booster and one of the few businesses out that way. He and his wife are characters. I would drop him a note about your search.

After more searching we seem to be attracted to the Coral Bay area as it seems to be more secluded, but we haven't ruled anything out.

Some of the properties we liked were:

Brisas del Mar
Palladios View
Cliffside
Periwinkle Cottage
In Harmony
Treetops

Any additional info or opinions on these or similar properties would be really great. I've found this forum to be really friendly and helpful. Thanks for all the great info!
