Yes, please, could all who were in the path, pipe in here.

Unbelievable weather.

I suppose this should be in the "off topic" area but who cares.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for asking about the Tuesday storms. We moved from Mountain View, AR in July and it was hit by the one of the tornadoes. We still own a house and an office there but as far as we know they were untouched. There is currently no electricity nor phone service in the county, but my friend texted me today along with devastating pictures. The hospital was hit as well as a family practice clinic and an orthopeadic surgeon's office. Patients at the hospital (just totally renovated :( )were transferred to a local nursing home. We heard reports that the hospital will not be operating/admitting patients until further notice. The Chevrolet dealership is gone.

Mountain View is quite isolated in the Ozark National Forest in north central Arkansas (and only one of several towns/areas affected) so we are slowly getting reports (even from local news). The area is not heavily populated however it seems the tornado was large covered a lot of ground.

I'll let ya'll know if I find out anything else. We're planning to visit Mountain View next week if not sooner to check on our stuff and especially our friends. Again, thank you for your concern.

P.S. on a random note:
Remember my post regarding no tanning salons in Mountain View prior to our May St. John trip? There are tanning beds in different business such as a gift shop store room, a furniture store and the creepy insurance agency with two tanning beds. Well, I saw on the news that the insurance agency building was demolished.

We, in NW Arkansas, were spared the worst of the storm. We watched it on radar as it developed in NE Oklahoma. When it arrived in our area we got a severe storm with intense rain, lightning and high winds lasting tow or three hours. It continued to gain strength as it traveled east. When it got to the area that Kellyanna wrote about, it had reached its full and distructive strength. Normally, when the sun goes down, these systems lose strength. That didn't happen in this case. The storms become more dangerous when they hit at night. Many people go to sleep unaware that the storm is coming. These rural settings and small towns don't have a system to alert their neighbors --especially at night. And the most dangerous part is that the funnels can't be seen at night until they touch down and do some damage.

Thanks for your concern and prayers for our friends, neighbors and families who are experiencing this tremendous loss.

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. East Tennessee fared okay. Some areas in west TN and around Nashville weren't as lucky. Knoxville is a-ok. I saw some amazing lightning storms and the wind was insane, but that was the worst of it. My thoughts and prayers go out to those that may not have been as lucky.
