Thank you so much. She was a tough old broad that lived a darn long life. I am proud to have had her in my life for so long.

I am sorry to have gone off on the other thread, but I have just has a bad day and message board snarkiness seems so petty in comparison.

I was lucky enough to have had two wonderful grandmothers. I was just talking about them today as a matter of fact. They've both been gone for many years now and I really miss them. But I have so many fond memories, so it it okay.

I know you are thankful for your time that you were able to spend with your grandmother. And I know that she was Thankful for you, too. Peace and Love.

And don't worry about the other. (((HUGS)))

I remember how fondly you spoke of your grandmother.
So sorry for her loss but be thankful that you had her as long as you did. She'll be in my prayers and so will you.

I lost my Grandmother (she was 88 years old) in 1980. That was difficult; she was the only Grandparent I had (all others had passed away before I was born). I can still see her, hear her voice...

Now, my Mom is the one who is going..slowly..(she is 85 years old)

Thank goodness my Dad is still able to take care of her.

On Saturday, they are going to St. Croix, for their last time (shhhhh), if all of the stars and moons align correctly.

They have been going to St. Croix every year, for at least two weeks (Buckaneer) since about 1975. Mom used to float in the big pool while Dad would golf. They would explore the island, snorkel, dine out and reconnect.

Sounds like me and Pete. Without the golf.

This is THEIR place. Like we all love STJ; St. Croix is theirs. It's where they have gone for so many years to celebrate their love. They even have a special room that they ask for, I don't know the number of the unit, but it has a balcony and a view and a place sit, under cover (if there is rain) and read books. Dad is going to have to wheel-chair her there but, damn it, she and he need to be there. One last time. But, don't tell my Mom it's her last time. She needs to have hope for more.

Death. It's horrid for the living.

Please wish my parents one last wonderful trip to the USVI in St. Croix.

We all need that place. I hope the trip is all they want it to be.
